Tata Motors' to launch Nano car in Bangladesh

On top of that who would pay 6 lakh for a shoe box ? Indians are not willing to buy this even over a motor cycle.

I think TATA had a good product, but the hype was too much.

.
They overlook the looks of the car because they do not have much choices. However, you will find that the well off indians does differentiate the looks of the car

Less choices??!!! They are too much already..!! I cant decide which car to buy for the last 2 months.. My budget is approx 700.000 INR, so a premium hatchback.. Narrowed down to Honda Jazz or Hyundai I20 Asta... Any suggestions??!!

.
I will buy JAZZ if I get the girl free with the car..!!! :smitten: :bounce: :smitten:

the nano is an attractive car for the price. If the price is tripled then I wonder if it will fin any takers. And its right on BD's part anyways to impose such sanctions. Its the same as imposing sanctions on some cheap ripoffs and cheap manufactured goods that some countires dump into other countries and killing the local industry.

again, the nano is at most a decent car but its biggest draw is the price. if that is lost in taxes, then i wonder what its got to offer to compete with the market. what are the other cars in offer in BD in same price range?

.
^^^Looking forward to those. I am sick and tired for paying all the fuel. And I drive a Japanese car!

I bet you know little about Nano and indian car in Bnagladesh. If you want to be roasted alive inside car then go ahead try Tata No-No.

No one is forcing Bangladeshis to buy it. It's a good alternative to expensive second hand Japanese Cars... If you don't feel it's safe then don't buy it.

Simplez.

Apart from the safety issue, Nano is too small and too light for BD's badly maintained roads. Nano or any other small cars will do better if their producers consider a larger diameter wheels. Small wheels are not comfortable in BD roads.

Bd's drivers are brutal. One accident with this car and person will be Allah ka pyara. Also, I strongly oppose this car in Bd because this will worsen already worsen traffic. Big no. We better stick to reconditioned Japanese made car.

However, I liked the small car photo sent by Al-Zakir in post #8. Note the wheels are quite large. By the way, who is this beautiful lady driving in europe? Is she Al-zakir's ----?

No, no, sir. Just a random picture from the net.

Lol I would be surprised if she is Mrs. Al Zakir... to me she should be a lady/woman wearing burkha with hijab if not with niqab...:P... Though thats my wild imagination.

You are funny, sami. Well, my wife wear Hijab(scarf) but she doesn't cover her face. She is a math teacher in secondary school.

I don't know about US, but there is no such thing as a guy car or a gal car in India...its more about efficiency, convenience, reliability and above all affordability and trust me a lot of Indians will overlook the looks if the car gives a reasonably good mileage (say above 20 km/l)

In USA, it's a big factor. Color is another factor. Smart car entered in US market for few years yet no success. I have seen one or two around women driver inside. We have better alternative like Hybrid and electric car. These cars are very fuel efficient. Almost all major manufacture offer this kind of vehicle.

Yeah I know. Drive around in a Hybrid ..you are a environment conscious liberal, pick up...redneck from south, American SUV gas guzzlers....conservatives/cowboys, chevy with bull horns...rich Texan, black Cadillac Escalade....gangsta etc

May be you know already, but this website will help you decide. You can compare 3 cars at a time

Car Comparisons - Hyundai i20 Asta v/s Honda Jazz Basic | CarDekho.com

Just curious.. why are you not going for any sedan.

My budget is jus 700,000 INR... Cant get a decent sedan in that amount I feel, plus i will have to settle for an entry level sedan.. Which i dont want to get.. I personally would prefer a fully loaded hatchback than an entry level sedan.. I drive an Accent GLE rite now which i will have in spare none the less... So m thinking of going for a Hatchback..!!

Dont believe in those websites that much.. Would prefer a persons suggestion than a website.. I somehow get the idea that these websites can be/are paid by the car manufacturers to post good replies for their product?? Aint it??!!

Well everything should be taken with a pinch of salt. I think its high time that we have an Indian version of Top Gear rather than the biased car reviews that we see in our local channels....its like whatever car they are testing its always good!!!

The website I mentioned only give a quick comparison of the cars and its price, not the review.
