T-129B Helicopter ready to take on the Apache and Super Cobra

I think every attack helicopter would be very vulnerable in front of modern manpad wither it apachee or mi-28 or T-129 . we haven't seen apchee facing a similar enemy in any war . in spite of that it was shot down by Iraqi fighter by manpad and Ak-47 fire . so i think countering this threat (manpad) might be the decisive factor in Attack helicopter success .

How shortminded and naive of you, If you think mutli million attack helos just can be taking out like that with a AA system, Then you dont belong here. They have several counter measures against such threaths, Flairs for example. The Apache has proven himself over and over again how it avoided threaths and destroyed objectives easely in Afghanistan, Desert Storm and Freedom Iraqi. The Apache is a proven platform thats just how it is and no trolling of your isnt going to change that.

Yes and the Taliban has some Attack Choppers or heavy AA system to protect themsevles agains Apaches. I dont say its easy to take out a Apache but Iraq prooven that Apache is not everything. Since 2003 in Iraq, 32 Apache helicopters where taked down by infantry and dont tell me that these insurgents had high tech AA systems to take down these Apaches..

So we dont always have to look to the technical specifications but more to what the choppers have did in practice.. If so many Apaches can taken down by a country with no army.. i would ask myself what a apache would do agains a country with strong army and latest techs.

And this was just a example from Iraq.. Didnt count Afganistan.

Seni baya bir zamandan beri kapakliyorum ama bikmiyorsun Enes :D

And oh yeah 32 x 20.000.000 = $ 660.000.000

Not even close of truth. Have you ever checked out the Tank fleet of our neighbours and enemies in the region? Syrias tank fleet may be old and outdated but they number in the thousands! Although war is not likely, I believe we should get a small number of Apaches or Havocs.

Sure its a overkill when it involves fighting terrorist in mountains but when it comes at taking out heavy armours in huge numbers, Apache is your toy.

I am talking with facts and your talks is nothing but based on paperwork (technical specifications).

Dont make me laugh, Terrorists in Iraq and afghanistan have stormed and destroyed remaining abonandent military building during the invasions of both countries. In the proces they got there hands on the newest AA Systems made in Russia, They curtainly arent just equipt with thrash. Inface there was a case where a military transport aircraft (something close to a Boeing 737) was taken down just by a single AA systems. From about the 36 Lost in Iraq only 16 where caused by Enemy, The other where chrashed duo other reasons. Seeming that the US Army destroyed hundreds, No thousands of Military vehicles and along with thousands of Terrorist this is a small price. The Apache is a battle proven helicopter and may be hard to maintain, But that doesnt change the fact its a deathly helicopter. And for your information my views are based on facts and realistic events that support it. As i said, Afghanistan, Iraqi, Kuwait, Panama, Lebanon, Kosova and all other conflicts proof how effecient and lethal the Apache is, No denying here.

A light attack helo doesn't mean that The helo designed to eliminate Mainly assymetric threats, can't cope with heavy armed tank battalions. It is just a matter of weapon selection to be used against targets and mission requirements. That's why T-129B is called as multi-purpose surveillance-recognaisance attack helicopter...

T-129 B Multi-Purpose configuration comes with 8 UMTAS AT (Trials shows that UMTAS has impressive armour penetration ratio than expected) + 12 Cirit semi active laser guided missiles + 2 Stinger AA + 500 20mm munition. When It is needed (to be used against heavy armoured battalions), T-129B configuration can easily carry 12 (Maybe more) UMTAS missiles simultaneously at a serious tank hunter mission. If You think more than ten T-129B armed with avarage 12 UMTAS missiles in same mission, The enemy tank crews to be fought against T-129B, must early start praying Allah for an clear death Before It was too late.

Does T 129 have have flairs ?

Anyway, why we need Apache for tank hunting ? can't T 129 carry anti-tank missiles ? besides I don't think we will face any tank armies in near future, if needed I think we can design a larger heli from the experience and technology we got from T 129.

Really, are you thinking only helicopters can destroy tanks? Have you got any clue about what happened in Golan heights?

Maintenance is another issue. Greeks, as a user of AH-64, were complaining about Apache's maintenance hours. And AH-64 is damn expensive machine.

And for the bold part; are you high or something? With 51T-129, TSK can easily destroy almost all of the Greek 120mm MBT fleet. Authorities must be stupid to invest in UMTAS (which designed as a tank-killer) if T-129 is not enough for dealing with MBTs.

And BTW, tell me an army which operates 55000 tanks.

Well actually the discussion was about wether Apache or T-129 is better. You completely miss-understood the situation, I never said the T-129 is a bad helicopter. But the Apache is better thats all.

According to S&H Aselsan made helmets will be used on T-129As but an agreement already has been signed with Thales for Topowl. Agreement has been cancelled or what?

Aselsan selects cooperation with Thales for Turkey

Last time i checked we devoleped the AVCI Helmet system, Wether it was made with Thales co-op i dont know, Perhaps Cabatli can shed some light on the issue.

Aselsan selects cooperation with Thales for Turkey

Aselsan will have overall responsibility for the HICS and will develop the associated Electronic Unit and Software that integrates the head tracking and symbol generation systems. The HICS system could be proposed for Turkish armed forces transport and
combat helicopters, as well as for other nations seeking to acquire the T129, in addition to future platforms.

Most probably, Aselsan benefits the Display technology of Thales Top-Owl to apply for AVCI...

Here is AVCI

The Apache is not invincible thats for sure but it has been a fact that it survived heavy AA guns and missiles when hit and return to based.

.
I'm sorry but the Apache, especially the newest versions-AH-64D BLK.III is by far the greatest and most capable attack helo on the planet right now. It is the most survivable, most advanced in terms of weapons suite, has the gretest payload and the avionics onboard are far, FAR superior to any others carried on any other platform.
