Syrian Airdefences shot down Turkish plane

Turkey had earlier said that its military lost radar and radio contact with the jet over the Mediterranean after it took off from Erhac Airport in the eastern province of Malatya, which borders Syria.

The Turkish military provided no details about the mission of its downed jet, but Turkish media outlets said it was on a reconnaissance flight.

Turkish media outlets are saying that the two members of the jet’s crew have been rescued, but other news agencies say the men are still missing.
So it was probably some electronic jamming from modern electronic warfare system that Syria just acquired recently.
For the first time after Syrian airspace was violated at wish by The Israeli air force for decades, now it has the means to defend potently it own air space, it is just too bad it was a Turkish warplane, but happily the pilots were rescued at sea.
Next time Israel will think twice or more before violating Syrian airspace.

Which one we should supply Babur cruise missile to Syria or Turkey ? :undecided:

If Pakistan support Turkey by giving Babur cruise missiles, no doubt NATO terrorists will access it by attacking us. Syria is possible better in self defence, any deal?

What I said it is true and correct by observing it, everyone see it clear picture. You can call me bad languages whatever you want, I don't mind either. That's immature behavior by common Turkish behaviors.

Right, because NATO can't make a cruise missle. We would have to make a crude copy of the Babur. And to the Turkish members, remember the support you have gotten here from your Pakistani brothers! ;)

Well, Turkey is not stupid as they know USA divide the world and all Muslims countries recently examples of Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, etc. US is doing the same pushing Turkey another conflicts with Syria. Hopefully, Turkey will not listen to US demands.

New World Order and Terrors achievements.

Interesting that Turkish account is quite similar to Syrian:

So that confirms my conclusions:

1) Syrians were tracking the jet for long time and it was no surprise to them.
2) The F-4 was flying at high altitude, otherwise they were not able to track it.
3) Syrians were pretty sure that its a Turkish plane, because it flew through Turkish territory at high altitude and then loitered around.
4) Its ridiculous to assume that a hostile plane intending to attack would loiter before that at high altitude dragging all possible attention.

But there is one additional thing: there was low pass through Syrian waters between 11:42 and 11:47. Then plane again climbed to high altitude and returned to about same position as before pass.

Its very possible that they decided to make another low pass but were shot down.

This is strange and quite provocative behavior. But it same time its not really menacing, because plane which intends to attack would never behave like that.

Yes Syrian account and Turkish account is similar but one difference thing. Syria claims she shot down the aircraft in her airspace, but they lies. Syria shot down the plane in international airspace. So as you said Syria knew the aircraft identity, they tracked before they fired, the plane violated Syrian airspace unintentionally and warned immediately by Turkish radar. After warning the pilots left the Syrian airspace immediately. And at 11:58 Syria shot down the warplane in the international airspace. I think they did this because they wanted to test our limit. However, the consequences will be harsh for the Syria. Turkiye will gradually increase the tension using her downed aircraft (because Turkiye is right). Turkiye says she reserves her all rights in return to Syrian hostility. I think sooner or later Bashar al-Assad will be gone either with diplomacy or with force. Do not forget my statement.

I do not see a mention of NATO's inability to make a cruise missile in that very post , the poster was just implying that NATO would be reluctant to provide Turkey such hardware :P

As for the stance of Pakistani members , actually we aren't siding with Assad , what we are saying that Syria is justified in safeguarding its sovereignty , we aren't war mongering like Americans who for their objectives want another war in Middle East , As if the destruction of Iraq and Libya weren't enough ... Both sides are mature and they will resolve the issue peacefully ... Assad and the Turkish authorities have hinted at that ! I hope for the best ...

What is the problem then if the two accounts are almost similar , unclear just as to location of where the aircraft was shot ?
What difference does it make if it was shot in Syrian airspace or International waters when Ankara itself admitted that F-4 did intrude in Syrian Airspace ? Wasn't Türk Hava Kuvvetleri aware of the tense relations between the both countries at the moment ? :azn: What explanation then would you provide for a reconnaissance flight so close to the Syrian airspace and even intruding it ?Of course , Damascus thought of it as a threat ... The path of the F-4 itself was provocative if you look the maps ! Mistake or deliberateness argument is no use since the low level commander controlling the SAM could by no way know the intentions of the intruder ! He did his duty , nothing else ... The current Relations between Turkey and Syria didn't allow him to be lenient ... To be honest , Syria isn't in a position to test anyone's limit ... Turkiye on the other hand , seems very eager to play directly into the hands of US trying to fulfill Washington's dirty agenda !

I found something very interesting ...

NATO to discuss downing of Turkish jet by Syria - Air Force News | News from Afghanistan & Iraq - Air Force Times
Dogu Ergil, a professor of political science at the Ankara University, told private NTV television that Turkey had repeatedly sent its jets across the Syrian border for several weeks to show its military muscle at the time.

Whats the fuss then ? :azn:

I cant do anything if you are ignorant about the International laws regarding a country's airspace , that too keeping in mind that relations between Turkey and Syria are at all time low ... :azn:

Anyways , I am done ... Over and Out !

99% of countries don't shoot down aircraft that are barely violating territorial airspace. They warn said aircraft or send up other aircraft to force it to land. Not shoot first and ask questions later. it sounds like as well that the flight path was fairly routine

WHY does Turkey needs to bark a lot all over NATO to meet and attack bla bla

INVADE SYRIA if you think they hurt you so much dont talk to other just attack

Those idiots such as Akhalid1, Raptor and some others above is the common who prefer babbling against Turks with using some ideological terms and NATO at every thread so Their statements don't make any sense in Turkey Defence threads. Even If the Turkish plane Syria downed at international waters, were carrying passanger, They will keep talking nonses because The actual point of the events isn't improtant for them. They just feel about current syrian regime as close to their backward ideology so They will support them all time against every situations. It isn't important What Syria did againt Turkey. Their main problem isn't downed Turkish aircraft or Syrian hostile move against Turks but ideologic reasons and "devil" NATO. The word of "Turkey" is just a tool for them to use in order to attack on their ideological enemies.

Why ? Turkey is a NATO member and carrying such an attack on NATO agenda is as usual thing If a NATO state was attacked by a subhuman regime. The gold question is Why It gives you increadible pain ?
