This debate is going no where. So I will leave it with this post.My 'calipha' or do you mean the caliph chosen by those suckular minions of Saddam? Do you think we give a flying fck about the Kurd terrorists? They are committing acts of heinous terrorism in Turkey so that they can materialize their suckular agenda, now isn't that what suckularism is all about? As soon as they grab power those suckular leaders start considering the state as their personal property and take my word for it those Kurd terrorists are no different.
In BD the minorities are enjoying much more rights than what the minorities enjoy in the west, the so-called cradle of suckularism, so keep your compassion to yourself. You'll find the tales of minority oppression in BD only in the RSS booklets.
It is you who's attaching religion to everything in order to pass the blame on to the Islamists though those who make the state decisions in the Muslim World are all suckular thugs.
See Bengals division from Pakistan proved in clear terms that religion is not a strong enough glue to hold a nation together. Other factors should be taken into consideration as well. When the Prophet was asked about harvest in certain way he demanded harvest in another way. The next year the harvest was poor. Mohammad PBUH looked at the poor harvest that year and recognized that Muslims had to think for themselves. He acknowledged his advice had not worked.
Another example was of the camel. An arab came to the prophet and asked whether a camel should be tied or left alone to the will of Allah. This displays clearly that the Muslim world by being muslim alone cannot be strong enough but also has to have an outlook beyond religion, in development of philosophy, economy and a meritocracy. Which means we need to think and Islam has produced major thinkers like Hasan Al Basra and Ibn Rushd which unfortunately have been glossed over by conservatives.
Allah is, if he is telling us anything, with the poverty and being servants of America that we need to think for ourselves and develop a strong policy that strengthens us. We need to think of alternate solutions like secularism for our societies. Ummayad and Rashidun society was completely secular. Muslim spain was secular. Why have we forgotten our secular roots now when we need them most?
