Swami Chakrapani on Kerala floods, says help only those who do not eat beef

While many people are praying for the victims of Kerala floods, there are some others who are creating controversies by just making insensitive comments. Earlier, RSS ideologue S Gurumurthy said that the reason for Kerala floods is that women are being allowed to the temples in Kerala.

Now, Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha chief Swami Chakrapani has created controversy by saying that only those who do not consume beef should be helped in Kerala floods. The self-styled godman also said that many innocent people died in the floods because few people kill cows and exhibit in shops.

“I am also appealing for help in Kerala. But help should be given to those who respect nature and creatures. When roti was available to people in Kerala, they were slaughtering the cow to eat her meat. So, what I mean is that Hindus should provide help to those who avoid cow meat,” Chakrapani told ANI. He added that the floods in Kerala were caused due to cow slaughtering in the state. Nature punishes those who commit sin on this Earth, he said.

He also said that those who are trying to hurt the Hindu religion by deliberating eating cow and slaughtering her on the road should not be forgiven. He said that people who eat beef should not receive any help. “If they have to be provided for help, they should be asked to sign a pledge that they would never eat beef in the future,” Chakrapani further said.

Kerala is facing one of its worst ever natural calamities. The floods caused by continuous rains since August 8 has destroyed lives of many. The death toll has reached over 350 and infrastructures worth thousands of crores have been destroyed. More than 10 lakh people have also been sheltered in more than 3000 relief camps. Many organisations and people have come out for raising funds for the flood relief operations. Many celebrities have also contributed for the Kerala relief funds.
