I made this thread to see the economies of our countries & to discuss without fight to what to for the betterment of situation......with lowest per capita income in the whole world & highest weopons purchases----- SHAME

Following are the south asian countries with their GDP & per capita

Sri Lanka actually is doing well by a big margin in per capita.

It is naturally quite hard to improve GDP per capita in countries with large and dense populations.

But the main things are Education, Infrastructure and Urbanization.

Third World Heavily populated Countries like India , Pakistan , Bangladesh etc . Sri Lanka is not heavily populated so it can be .

It is naturally quite hard to improve GDP per capita in countries with large and dense populations.

But the main things are Education, Infrastructure and Urbanization.

Add to that corruption, poor governance and politics that has driven India into the quagmire. This will never change due to coalition politics ('Dharma') never mind if this country bleeds to death.

Wrong data in the OP..

Paksitan's GDP per capita is $1100 to 1201 (2011 es)t from World Bank, IMF and CIA World Factbook

India's GDP per capita is 1389 - 1500 (2011 est) from the same source..


So when you open a thread please don't start with misinformation.. Also GDP per capita in case of Pakistan is based on the population estimates from 1998 census where as in case of India it is based on 2011 Census population estimates

In South Asia alone... Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bhutan are ALL growing faster than India.

sri lanka is small tiny country and their economy not affect world economy .so no one care.by the way Sri Lanka is highly dependent on foreign assistance.

refer the latest economic survey of Pakistan....

someone said pakistan population of 1998 has been taken... wht a pitty it was arround 140 million & if tht is the case than pakistan's per capita would be more than 2000 $
