SCO steps out of Central Asia

Stability needs investment in the form of money. India has money. Pak has nothing other than checking the terrorists it harbours.

Indian investment is a joke. If China/Russia wanted stability they would be able to supply money a lot more easily. It's not that rich anyway with its starving billion.

SCO is not about money or economics.

india joining sco does not mean india is joining the prevailing china/russia orbit - if it did you think the americans would sit back and just meekly allow it to happen?? - they would using all their leverage in the indian establishment to change india's course.

if india were to join i dont think it will be good for china and russia because i suspect india will essentially become the american voice in the SCO, therefore it could undermine the point of the SCO.


at the same time the SCO cannot openly snub india - therefore its not a straightforward predicament and thats before you even get into the whole inida/pak complications.

For an organization of such a sort, there is no significance for Money and Economics? and Indian Investment, India has Investments not only in the form of money,India can invest in terms of Man and machine.... India hasnt done anything in Afghanistan. It was too timid to step out of the US shadow. All the major development projects in Afghanistan were funded by Western powers (even though most of the money didn't arrive).

India created a Parliament building but designed it so that it offended the local population. That was about all the superduperpower of India achieved in terms of economics.

its silly to say india has nothing to offer, orcourse it does, the question is in what spirit is india joining?

i believe that when it comes to isses to do with WoT, afghanistan and the USA then india will be the black sheep - most other nations will converge to some sort of agreement, i suspect india will take the american line.

am wondering if china and russia want this?

SCO is about cooperation not just "Geostartegic relevance". India has already invested $1.5 billions with plans to invest $0.5 billions more in Astan. People of Astan like India because of it's humanitarian works. India is treating hundreds of patients in Astan daily. And what has Pak done. Jilch. Even after it's "Geostartegic relevance", it is among the most hated countries in Astan. Geostrategic implications work only if a country has something to offer. Pak has nothing to offer. India joining SCO provides the impression of an International group with bright future, economic development, cooperation, investment, increased benifit and stature. Pak joining SCO provides the liability of supporting Pak in the name of it's "fight against terrorism" when it has nothing to offer. Pak is a liability rather then adding some value to the group. Moreover since the US will maintain a permanent base in Astan, US will take decisions regarding Astan rather than Pak.

You are so short-sighted that you believe the SCO is just about China, Russia. Instead the main focus of SCO is CAR. And CAR doesn't have representatives in BRIC. You don't even know what are the objectives of SCO and that is why you see Pak as more important than India to SCO.

Shows your naivety. India won't donate billions to CAR. They will invest there. There is a difference between bussiness and charity. Learn that first.
