FYI the only other Muslims who supported the Turks both morally and materially in their war of independence were the founders of the modern State of Pakistan and its people, women gave their jewelry to help fund the Turkish war effort. For us, Turkey was the only Muslim power that could counterbalance the influence of the British, and after the fall of the Ottoman empire a lot of people wept day and night over the loss of the last Muslim empire, of course that wouldn't matter to you Arabs much since you gifted Palestine to the British.
Long live Pak-Turkey friendship and brotherhood.
simplistic interpretation of history.
Firstly, Arabs had the RIGHT to throw off an alien culture. You guys here hypocritically criticize 'caliphate', trying to sound 'liberal' or whatnot but support the Turkish Caliphate in hind-sight.
Secondly, a few bedouin tribes supported the British, in the hope of gaining self-determination. That does not make tens of millions of 'Arabs' 'backstabbing' Turkey.
Thirdly, by all indication, the Ottoman Empire was over. It lost not only its Middle Eastern provinces but much else. There was no 'backstabbing' needed. This was a logical conclusion. Turkey retrenched to its current border. It had to. Actually, it took a mighty effort to just hold onto what is now the modern Turkey.
Fourthly, it took decades before the 'Arabs gifted Palestine' to Israelis. Had they 'gifted' it then there would not be violence in late 1940's. The creation of Israel had become a fact. The victors of the WW2 had decided. And Turkey barely clung to existence post WW 1 to effect any change.
The arguments you and your supporters come up are incoherent, hateful, illogical, and yes, utter emotionalism.
Long live Pak-Turkey friendship, yes, but also Long-live Pak-Arab, Pak-Iran, Pak-China and eventually Pak-India friendship.
