Asharq Al-Awsat

The Saudi government stressed on Tuesday its keenness on the unity, sovereignty and safety of Arab territories, saying it rejects any threat to the region.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the cabinet meeting that was held via videoconference in Neom due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The cabinet reviewed various regional developments, underlining the Kingdom’s solidarity with the Palestinian people and support to all efforts aimed at reaching a fair and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause. The solution should allow the Palestinians to establish their own independent state, according to the 1967 borders, international resolutions and the 2002 Arab peace initiative, and with East Jerusalem as its capital, it added.

King Salman also briefed the ministers on the details of the message he received from Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa and the telephone calls he held with each of Chinese President Xi Jinping, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Discussions with the world leaders tackled the G20 meetings and their efforts to combat the pandemic. Saudi Arabia is the 2020 president of the G20. King Salman stressed the Kingdom’s keenness on working with the global group in supporting the world economy, easing the impact of the pandemic and returning to normal life.

The cabinet also highlighted King Salman’s speech before the launch of the L20 Workers Communication Group in the G20 last week. In his remarks, delivered on his behalf by Human Resources Minister Ahmed al-Rajhi, King Salman stated that combating the pandemic and its health, social and economic impact was a top priority for the G20.

The ministers also highlighted Saudi Arabia’s ranking first among G20 countries in digital competitiveness, saying it was a product of the support provided by King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the telecommunications and informational technology sectors in recent years.

On Yemen, the cabinet condemned the hostile terrorist escalation by the Iran-backed Houthi militias and their attempt to attack civilian targets in the Kingdom with ballistic missiles and armed drones. It hailed the Arab coalition for thwarting such threats and taking the necessary precautions to protect civilians.

Saudi's can talk and as soon as Saudi Arabia normalises relationship with Israel all Muslim countries should demand not ask that they should relinquish custodianship of Mecca and Medina and a group of Muslim countries should take the ownership of the sites. This saga will drag on for few years and gives us the time to sort out CPEC phase ll. Hopefully our government doesn't messes up this project then our people doesn't need to be desperate to go to Saudi, Bahrain and UAE for jobs and we can't stay silent anymore. The epic betrayal of these Arabs kingdoms for their own survival in this day and age is beyond words and on top of it they are selling Masjid Al Aqsa which even doesn't belongs to them is height of something words can't explain. Wish Pakistan would have supported Iran vision for the Gulf decades ago when they were asking these countries to democratise so these Imman frosh would not have been in power. I really feel like throwing up when i see their faces on the telly brazenly walking around with wearing honourable badge of betrayal around their necks.

Biggest threats to regional stability have been USA and friends. Destroying Iraq, Syria, Libya while engaging in a double game with Iran.....encouraging them to fight Sunni/Arab elements the USA doesn't like (ISIS, Al qaeda, Saddamists, and the Taliban).

.
Notice how the word arab unity is used instead of muslim unity.

Well they are referring to the region which is only Arab countries. But the funny part is the biggest threat to regional stability is probably UAE.

.
Let them die playing their own game. You can’t expect camel herders to wake up one day and become diplomatic savvy. Never happened and never will. So much for Arab land when it’s all screwed up and mostly due to their own doing.

??? I don't see that. UAE is reacting to a board set up by external actors.

Lets see...UAE false flags tanker bombings, backstabs Saudis in a war it helps start (Yemen), sucking up to Israel just to get some weapons for attacking Iran. What external actors have made them do this?

UAE will not attack Iran. These are small actions compared to damage caused by others.

What? These are actions big enough to start a world war. These are just as bad as any other actions if not worse.

War will not start in ME. The Israelis have won. UAE is just the first in GCC to accept terms.

Thats the funny part the Arabs have decided to work with Israelis before trying to work with Iran. Talk about regional stability.
They are essentially paying the Israelis for existing.

UAE has colluded with Iran for years. UAE is a hub for black money in region and helped Iran maneuver around sanctions.

Pakistani's must accept the GCC has changed. Past rulers valued their tribal/Islamic heritage. Current rulers don't.

I view GCC as a hedge fund with some cities and armies. They will do whats in their commercial interests.

Arabs in Israel Deal 2020 are smarter than Western countries in the Iran Deal 2015.

It's cheaper bribe Israel than Iran, Israel is a smaller country and stronger than Iran.

I will revise my thinking about UAE. After researching the UAE perspective, UAE wants to split the region into two blocs. Egypt, GCC, and Israel in one camp. Turkey, Iran, and Qatar in the other camp.

USA and friends initiated the instability in the region. UAE/Iran want to keep it going.
