A good choice as it sends the message loud and clear, representatives of poor are being empowered. PTI could have opted for a major political figure but instead they have chosen someone relatively unknown from a smaller district of Pakistan. Good move.

However as @Winchester stated in another thread, will he be able to control Punjab? It will be tough, may be a big-wig was what was required for the task but still, i hope and pray for his success and that of the government as Pakistan's success depends on it.

The biggest strength of PTI and IK is youth and at the same time the biggest weakness as well, there is a huge difference in jalsay jaloos and opposition ki politics and parliamentary politics and decision making. The moment usman's name was announced the ill informed media and soo called "Tajziya nigaar" got activated or unkay pichwaray se aag nikalnay lagi. Let poor guy gives a chance yar for heaven's sake, let him work and let perform, agar deliver na kar sakay tu bhalay chowk pe taang dena but atleast give him a chance, these paid media and news channels can tolerate someone as incompetent and corrupt as Murad Ali Shah twice as CM sindh lekin south punjab se koi unknown banda CM kia announce huwa inko mirchen lag gayen, let him work and then judge on his performance.

He is not very rich. He is a poor guy unlike many politicians. Comes from underdeveloped area. He has masters in LLB and his house might not even have electricity because PMLN never gave any grants to the region. He is a successful farmer and knows most of the problems rural Punjab is facing.
@PakSword he has no corruption charges. His total worth is 760,000 or something close to it.

Now latest news coming in, that this dude has been involved in murder 20 years back in fact case was only dropped when he payed diya. This is very disturbing news coming especially when he was involved in heinous crime such as murder. Major media backlash and propaganda to begin over this nominee now.

It's not going to happen until PTI has 2/3 majority in both Federal and Punjab. A split right now would mean losing central and north punjab to PMLN.

Also, JKT has announced that he is leaving Pakistan. So if proposed CM is JKT's man, why would JKT leave to manage his business? Rumour has it that he is ill as well.

PPP will side with PTI on any legislation to make south Punjab a separate province. However, these things should wait for 10-12 months. Let the things settle in. First thing will be to get out of economic crisis without IMF and regain some international friends. That is most important. Once international image improves, economy gets better, such reforms will come.

Bro, honestly speaking, if he paid blood money and the issue was settled, both our religion and law permits it. Those laws are for a reason, following them will only make us stronger.

Still on a personal note, i would have wanted a less controversial figure as CM Punjab which might be THE THOUGHEST job for next 5 years.
