Sahiwal shooting: Deputy Commissioner says CTD did not face retaliation

CTD spokesperson claims four alleged terrorists including two women were killed in an IBO
SAHIWAL (Dunya News) – Contradictions in statements from law enforcement agencies have raised further doubts over alleged encounter by Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel near Sahiwal district today (Saturday).

In his statement, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sahiwal has now clarified that CTD personnel did not face any retaliation from those sitting inside the car.

The statement made the incident further controversial, as earlier CTD spokesperson claimed that four alleged terrorists including two women were killed in an intelligence based operation (IBO) in Qadirabad area near Sahiwal.

The spokesperson claimed that the passengers of the car opened fire on officers who were trying to intercept the vehicle and a motorcycle on GT Road.

The CTD further claimed that the slain were linked to a group involved in the abducting of former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani’s son and an American citizen. Three ‘terrorists’ including Abdul Rehman and Shahid Jabbar fled from the scene, it added.

Im not supporting CTD here. Im just saying we should calm down and let facts come out first.

Either way thats what happens when pindi boys protect criminals like rao anwar (asset) and the secuirty forces of punjab work for the higgest bidder or with the biggest danda. No wonder pindi boys did not let immi touch these forces and retired KPK IG refused to work with the secuirty forces of punjab and bring some kinda change...Anyways the different level sheep can take the debate further..mans out

Interesting how even with claimed intelligence these guys chose to intercept in the middle of the city without any plan of action that would have saved the innocent lives.

Couldn't they have followed them and set up a proper operation, maybe where other lives weren't being needlessly risked?

Even if one were to believe the police narrative, it still reeks of incompetence.

Hope the culprits get what's coming soon enough.

It was CTD not police. Second they were suspected terrorists. Third 3 escaped. You don't run if you are not guilty. Lastly there is an investigation going on.

CTD says these people are listed on the Red Book. They travel with family to pacify security checkposts who usually let you go if you have women and kids in the car.

CTD also claims that they failed to stop the vehicle and sped off, leading to a chase.

CTD has also claimed that its team came under fire from the vehicle.

If you're working for a terrorist organisation, you won't tell this to your relatives. They'll come out and protest, naturally assuming your innocence.

As i said, don't draw conclusions in haste. CTD only hits if it has proper information.

If there were wespons you are right if no than we know what happened..
My guess was CTD got intelligence report and they just fired upon the vechile shoot first and ask questions later

If that guy which children are calling Molvi was really a terrorist than it's different thing Police sorry to say has no training in dealing with these situations it needs few years yo make units and hostage rescue teams to deal with these situations

Why call it CTD if they have no trianing
Police do graduate after full training ...now if one fail or fails to keep up that's a different story

Fake encounters have a history in Pakistan especially from last 30 years under the tenures of Sharif's Punjab Police and Benazir and Zardari's Sindh Police. Bhutto also made some special forces for these kind of encounters to silence the voices against him. Musharaf directly used agencies under his command for such purposes.

Pakistan Army, Rangers, FC, Police and every LEA should surrender each and every pickup, Mitsubishi and Hilux because an Alto car can carry 9 individuals according to the recent Press Release issued by Punjab Police.

Shame on you guys! Enough is enough...
