I would say the blame (or credit when it's the other way around) goes more the the man behind the machine, which is why I referenced indians, (esp the IAF) While the russians war machines may not be as good as they advertise them to be, russian military has performed similar to this, which makes me think this soldier wasn't a bad soldier. but that was as good as his training got

Well, there are no freebie in war.

If they are forward deployed and it was turn off, it's actually worse than the system itself is incompetent.

It's like I am saying My F-22 got shot down because I don't bother to move it away from runway. You can have the most state of the art equipment and it may fail once or twice, that's normal, but if you let a bunch of incompetent people in charge of those equipment, then they will fail EVERYTIME.

It's more like saying you shot down an F-22,but you actually destroyed it on the ground.

It looks like it was hit while on the move.


Even if it was fully deployed, things can get through. No system is perfect, nothing is invincible. I'm surprised there has never been one destroyed before.

It is sad that Turks fell for this S-400 gimmick and gave up their F-35 project in the process.

We don't even know when the S400 was deployed since it was S300s that were most common during the war.
