I concur to an extend, P-8I is still much advance than anything offered by any other western/eastern nation but it is still inferior to Japanese latest P1 Kawasaki.

As for PAK-FA, I don't think there is any choice for hindustan they will accept any variant and take it to israel that is also going to have its inputs in F-35s so much could come from that program, end result israelied, frenchified, russian and tiny bits from hindustan itself.

hindustan will get pak-fa but it would be expensive than before whatever estimates they have in mind.

But i don't know if india can complete a project of such a scale in a decade compared to russians and Chinese specially, we are tired to repeat about lca program if they couldn't fix it honest assumption is they can't take on such a big project like pak-fa without foreign help from 3-4 nations huge cash making it expensive program and wasting lots of years. In short the are very poor at project management along with other things.

PAKFA would go through and be in IAF colours.

and regarding comparision of PAKFA with F-35 or J-20 and even F-22 this is what is th reality.

1 PAKFA == 1.2 F-22 == 2 F-35 == 4 J-20

PAKFA haters can keep on crying for next 4-5 years and really no one cares. While India and Russia would have the world's best 5th gen plane in PAKFA many would be left with the inferior F-35 and J-20s in their arsenal which would be blown to pieces in any possible future confrontation with PAKFA.

what was the downgrade chinese? the only distinction was non NATO communication links and Nato related encryption. It is not a "casino" aircraft masked to be called anything greater..
