What F-16s Will (and Won't) Do for Ukraine

After months of publicly lobbying to acquire U.S.-made F-16 fighter jets, it appears that Ukraine may receive them later this year. However, there remains a long road ahead before the F-16s would see service in Ukraine—and it is an open question how much they would affect the outcome of the war.

US has just invested billions into new factories for production of 155mm ammunition

they said they wont reach 70,000 units per month until summer of 2025 and the ramp up will take time

another words they need this war to last another 2 years as to protect their initial investment and making the ramp up worth while

you can trust a snake but you cant trust USA

US artillery shell production is still technically at 'peacetime" levels. At wartime level, many industries can be mobilized to ramp up production

That looks ugly. There is no hideous against cluster bombs. Well deserved. The Russians want to hunt Nazi in trenches. And found it. Ukraine’s assault towards Robotyne looks promising. The elite 82. brigade is joining the offensive. Challenger 2 tanks, IFV Marder. Why not copy the Russians. Cope cage is cheap and good.

The question is who will die first?

S300, S400 are said have operational range of 300-400km. The Russians must move the vehicles closer to the front. Which in turn will become targets by F16s potential long range missiles.

Wars go on for years, if not decades. This one is still in its infancy - i dont understand why all the russian supporters want it to end so soon ???

The curiosity here is. The only party can stop this war is Russia, Russia leave Ukraine, the war is over. And the only party that choose to fight is Ukraine, if Ukraine stop fighting Ukraine is gone.

The reason why Russia want the war to stop now is because they can't afford this war, it's very simple. If this war goes on til 2024, 2025 or even 2026, Russia would become a fail state just by trying to keep fighting in this war.

I really don't know what happened to him and why he is so much on the pro-Russian trip! Maybe he lost his job, his girlfriend and whatever, is only desperate and full of hate against everything, the West and so posting pro-Russian fantasies at least may bring some $$ into his pocket.

However I would like to know if deep in his heart he really believes the BS he posts: 1000 tanks per year, Russia's strength is in air defense, electronic warfare advantage is with Russia, surely Russian drones are also superior ...

I've given up arguing with him, it's useless like feeding a dead horse.

The F-117 sortie-to-loss ratio in global conflicts for reference:

Operation Just Cause = 6 - 0
Operation Desert Storm = 1219 - 0
Operation Allied Force = 743 - 1
Operation Iraqi Freedom = 87 - 0

This information is provided in a sticked thread. Both Iraq and Yugoslavia had capable defenses but American stealthy aircraft are scientific marvels that have no easy counter unlike some of the copies made by others.

It comes down to how well-equipped Ukrainians F-16s will be.

Ukraine Air Force has shown a great deal of competence in the war.
