As to why- 2 reasons.

Large scale deployment of chinese IRBMS.
Russia wishes to increase range of ISKANDER SRBM,which would wipe out any nato missile shield,right now to do this it has to forward deploy at the kaliningrad enclave.

Will this treaty affect brahmos.Block-iii version already has range 500 km.

Everyone around Russian Federation develops MRBM , plus expansion of US ABM in Europe and Pacific. I`m not sure that Mosocw will abandon INF Treaty soon , for now it`s only warning they will do it if nothing happens in this field.

INF Treaty is too important to be thrown in the garbage like that , because of it`s limitations on exports of such weapons.

French and British didn`t show themselves in good light during Libyan campaign , US was needed to finish the job and not only that French almost depleted their precision munitions and that says a lot. European countries make excellent military equipment but days of military domination is over.
