Russia never supported PKK. Im not even sure where did you get that delusional BS, probably you created that myth as exuse to your impotence in dealing with PKK and to justify your support of wahhabi terrorists in Caucasus. Im not even sure that Russian government in 90s really had any clue about PKK or who the fck is it

Current state of Syria is the result of civili war inside it. And its really not any sign of Turkish military might. More like a sign Turkish moral degradation.

if you dont know russia supported PKK then i have nothing to say . you dont classify them as terror organisation . after ocalan went greece he went russia and then italy so you let him there for a while . you gave them weapons . what else ....

Ocalan to leave Moscow
Turkey-Russia, Politics, 11/16/1998

The French daily Le Monde said on Sunday that Russian Prime Minister Yevgeny Primakov has informed his Turkish counterpart of the date of Kurdish Workers Party leader Abdullah Ocalan's departure from Moscow.

Ocalan to leave Moscow

I was talking about military support that never happened. And actually Primakov, who was a Russian PM for less than a year and specialised in ME relations, probably was one of a few people in Russian government at that time who did know who is PKK.

look , we are not paranoid or deluded and stupid enough not to know russia is stronger than us . We surely arent embarrased and a Turk will never be embarrased . you so so we are we today yes . ok .

India with its 1 billion + population has an economy of 1.6 trillion right ? thats smaller than UK who is 60 + million a very small gdp per capita and people dying of hunger .

Turkiye with 75 million population has an economy of 880 billion ( which is very very bad for me ) , although this isnt very good , our gdp per capita is over $12,000 , we have one of the youngest pensions in the world and you my relative got a pension at 49 and some people get it at 48 , around $400 per month at 49 till the rest of your life . we have minimal poverty compared to india and improving .

Military part - recently on another forum there was a statistic from an official thing that we are the 8th biggest exporter in the world in 2011 , we export many military things . some things we have and making is ANKA UAV ( like the third male uav in the world ) , very good APC's , A new tank we are making , very good weapons , electronics , Cruise missile , stealth corvette and frigates BTW here im not counting things done with joint ventures like T-129 heli etc , . We lack in long range missiles , space capabilities atm

While india is a pure importer and ( im not counting joint ventures that are mainly russian) , hardly makes anything . I saw your new arjun tank which looks outdated took so long , nothing impressive dont solely by india.

1. Actually, you are comparing raw numbers adjusted for ppp it would be the third largest economy behind US and china.
2. India has its own UAVs. Just that you do not hear about them because of all the noise about its other programmes.
3. The next generation naval destroyers, submarines, frigates and aircraft carriers are built in India. We cannot afford to export. Simple reason, our requirement is massive as of today.
4. Space capabilities among the best in the world for developing and building satellites. Missile capabilities well known.
5. From a poverty alleviation perspective the work is slow. I agree. But here is a statistic. We have added 100 MN ppl to the middle class from people who were in the poverty belt in the past 15 years or so. That should say something.

Again, the topic would not have gone into a Turkey vs India thing if one of the posters had not said something 'interesting'. The moot point being made was its foolhardy to take on the Russians and think you can defeat them.

PKK and ASALA are cold war-era Terrorist organisations which are created by Soviet Union.

After seeing the Russo-Chechen and the 2008 Georgia conflict, Im disapointed with Russian military doctrine. If war did happen, Russia would win but with very lityle gain and possibly Hundered Thousand dead.

*little gain

First off, India had a 90% poverty level and a 90% illiteracy level when the British left. With a population that is more than 10 times as yours, we have moved from that to what we are today - the worlds third largest economy. That was done solely by India. If you wanna go by history, even then India accounted for almost 25-30% of world GDP before the British took over. Where was turkey on that map? Well wherever it is today, but nothing spectacular.

As for military weapons, we have made our own tanks, guns, awacs, UAVs, our own fighter jets, missiles, we launch our own satellites - we even sent one to the moon etc etc. and we even launch satellites for others, So please with all the "we make more than you stuff" and that you export.

Turkey 8th? Get outta of here  Nice try with all the lies and needless chest thumping. Turkey is like 27 or whatever. Yes India is behind, by 10 places or so. That is also because we consume it and we dont have a big defence sales industry as yet. It means nothing, but if you wanna indulge yourself in mediocrity, so be it. With all the modern arms industry, all you could manage was place 27 and India with its state controlled bureaucracy can still manage 35

Whether you have better GDP per capita, or how much you export is all pure statistics. When it comes to capability, you will lose even to India in a war Today.

1) Fact is proven reality literally. What you assert here is not proven, not real.

Technicality.

So our resident Philosopher * Quasar * give us a nice philosophical musing for today ! :)

How do you think Turkey was like after we defeated British, Greeks, French and the others? A war won is almost as grim as a war that's lost.

I couldn't care less about urine racing with indians but just so you know, throught history war has always been Turkish nation's trade and we are well aware of the odds.

We aren't just bullies that can crush little countries like Syria. We've got what it takes to face bigger enemies if and when it's necessary.

I asked a question. As imagined a chess game, Turkey has eaten Syria. What move did Russia do?

All I have seen till now: Installing AA missile systems against Turkey.

With Russia playing always defence, barking without biting, USA, Turkey, EU, China (or any country you name it) will keep checking and piercing through Russian defences.

India's situation was different. We didnt go through a war. Trillions were looted, and that with a big population that was illiterate that was forced into poverty through colonialism. Lack of solidarity, muslims crying for another nation, communal conflict resulting in the deaths of about a million, the widespread dispossession of property for people, the extremely tough task of uniting Indian states as well as forcefully throwing out the portuguese and others, and then for the first time in History creating a union called India with its tremendous challenges ahead is no easy task. Atleast you guys had national identity, you were Turks. Beating into people the idea of "India" and taking it to what it is today, ahead of the very nations that colonized us in a lot of fields indeed comes with indomitable spirit and determination.

Anyway, this shouldnt have spiralled into a chest thumping contest. I was merely saying that Turkey is not as powerful as Russia today. And that they will lose if they actually fought a war with them. In response to someone saying that he would support "aggressive policies" as if that is gonna help Turkey's national interest. It will devastate it.
