3. And don't fool yourself, Pakistan did not bring down the superpower. USSR was brought down by its own internal contradictions. If the US could survive Vietnam, so could the Russians survive Afghanistan. After all, Vietnam devastated the US far more than Afghanistan did to USSR.

That's what Im saying.. whY is there double standard !!

When it comes to Russia then its taken as that Pakistan was the game planner and if some Pakistani say (that Pakistan brought down Soviet Union, which people feel shows that Pakistan is powerful enough to bring down a superpower then Pakistan becomes the puppet)

SO STICK TO ONE THING, PAKISTAN WAS PART OF THE GAME WHERE IT DID WHAT IT COULD TO PROTECT ITSELF. AND YEAH IT WAS THE U.S NOT PAKISTAN WHO BROUGHT DOWN RUSSIA. We know the truth and are keeping ourself with it, it is others who are taking out double meanings and using it against Pakistan on both the ends.

2. Your role in the Afghanistan episode was more hands on and direct, you let USA use you and your territory to achieve its strategic goals. Once the business at hand was concluded, the Americans promptly left, leaving you to clean up the mess, which you are doing till today.

China: is a past enemy, present competitor and a future partner (i'm not saying friend or ally, that only time will tell) hence no need for chinese weapons. We have started R & D in defence in the private sector in India. It's still a nascent stage but hey, well begun is half done!

That's more or less every defence equipment manufacturer in the world and they all vie for business in India.

@Ontopic India being the larger country will continue to veto (as was being debated in the other thread) Pakistan's progress and foreign relations as long as it has the power to do so and as long as it suits its interests. So it is in the best interest of Pakistan to improve relations with India. Accept it we are one billion people and that too, one billion woken up people after centuries of suppression and atrocities. We are moving forward like a juggernaut. Accept the reality, join hands with us and let us progress together!

As far as Russia goes let's see....and i wish you good luck...

India has great relations with Arab world, Good relations with Turkey(improving even further as we speak) and as far as China is concerned then you might be shocked to know that biggest trading partner of India is China...so much for strained relations....

In short if you are comparing relations with Turkey, China as compared to Pak then you are right...However if you look from holisitic picture you will understand diplomatic blunders your country have made by not pursuing good relations with Russia and Israel...Also as long as you have dependency on US and a non-nato ally maintaining/improving relations with Russia is going to be an uphill task...

In short if you are comparing relations with Turkey, China as compared to Pak then you are right...However if you look from holisitic picture you will understand diplomatic blunders your country have made by not pursuing good relations with Russia and Israel...Also as long as you have dependency on US and a non-nato ally maintaining/improving relations with Russia is going to be an uphill task...

yes i already quoted in the previous post that we had made mistakes in the past tp put Russia aside after collapsing of USSR.
But in case of Israel, we don't want to make relations with them...
Pakistan have excellent relations with whole world except Israel which we don't want and Russia which we didn't try to build it..

@Ontopic India being the larger country will continue to veto (as was being debated in the other thread) Pakistan's progress and foreign relations as long as it has the power to do so and as long as it suits its interests. So it is in the best interest of Pakistan to improve relations with India. Accept it we are one billion people and that too, one billion woken up people after centuries of suppression and atrocities. We are moving forward like a juggernaut. Accept the reality, join hands with us and let us progress together!

Command, don't demand respect..
I often wonder why people demand respect. Shouldn't respect be earned? If someone respects us only because we are in a position to demand it, then isn't it fake? If you ask me, I would like to be respected only for my abilities and qualities, not because my position demands it.

As for the bolded part, we have started commanding some respect from the world (you have google for that) and as we progress, as we lift more and more people out of poverty, more and more respect will come our way.

See there are two things, one is bought respect (what cameron did in India) another is earned respect (what India commands in G20, G8 (as an observer), UN, WTO, Climate talk or pretty much any other world stage today. I (and more or less most of us Indians) am in favour of the latter type of respect.

Russians attempt to offset the Indian interests in buying westren millitery tech more specifically to target the MRCA project.. !!!

I think India sees greater opertunity in establihing its ties with US and Russians are now having a feeling that they are being ignored by India.. !!!

Certainly theres alot of room for Russian cooperation inside Pakistan , Power generation, through Nuclear,Oil,Gas,Coal can be exploited apart from arms deal which could also keep close Russian ties with India intact... !!!!
