The Russian navy has been experiencing very serious problems in recent years. I don't think Russian Pacific fleet can create a deterrent to threaten Japan other than its nuclear strike capability.

I don't even think they have a Pacific Fleet anymore.
I think it is a bunch of subs, 1 Cruiser, 5 Destroyers and a bunch of tiny anti-sub ships.

Economy is actually not that important but i get what you trying to tell.

Economy is a seconday factor that automatically falls in line when the first order of factors are aligned in the right way.

How are you going to finance war without a good economy. You will have bad quality equipment and training for your forces too. Todays wars are won by advanced nations who have high tech militaries and to have that you need a strong economy the rest is just nonsense coffee house talk.

China beat USA and its allies in the Korean War at a time when China was technologically inferior by far. USA even thretend with nukes. But Mao and China had the willpower, leadership abd motivation to fight and win its strategic goals.

It is not always the best technology that wins, neither the richest nations. This is proven again and again throughout history.

That’s a very good example however that’s the reason why i especially said in todays wars meaning in 2022.

Even if you have the strongest willpower and best leadership in the world it wont help if the enemy knows where you are and follows you with cameras and satellites to hit you by laser guided missiles with pinpoint accuracy.

Russia can hardly win against Ukraine or even hold the occupying territory for long , they are losing men and equipment like crazy , they lost 5 generals out of 20 generals appointed for the war . Fighting another nation would break Russia apart , it can only defend itself using nukes as a detterent

You can't be serious comparing the invasion wars in Iraq to Ukraine's 'conflict'. I can't call Russia's invation a war because it's not conducting its operations like it's in a war. In a war, a power like Russia would first bomb the power stations/hubs, telecommunication infrastructures, government buildings, civilian airports, in addition to military airports, bases, barracks, ports. Look at what the US did in 2003, then compare Ukraine to Iraq at the 2003 point -- Iraq had been sealed off, sanctioned, choked for over 12 years since 1991. Ukraine, despite its outdated hardware, has inherited the second strongest military from the Soviet Union. Do you know about Soviet Union? Up to the 'conflict', Ukrained was never sanctioned and, in fact, was aided with American and British military hardware and trainings to retake the two independent provinces.

YET, the US took a month to conquer the Iraqi capital against a depleted, low-morale, practically no airforce army. Coming back to the Ukraine conflict, Russia's objectives are different than the Americans' and that dictate the operation tactics.

So you can't compare an apple to a durian.

The use of "Khinzal" missiles only shows the Russian military isn't even able to fly sorties into Ukraine and provide CAS to its troops on the ground because of fear of the Ukrainian air defence systems and manpads.

They can't properly use effective air force given their aircrafts use in majority unguided bombs,most of their aircrafts don't even have targeting pods or guided bombs,they have to fly low to provide CAS,thus in range of manpads and other Ukrainian air defence systems.

Russia is now only capable to strike Ukraine using cruise missiles fired from safe distance inside the Russian territory. RuAF is trash and this war only confirms it.
