It's actually quite dimwitted for China to try to push US out of Asia.

There are only 1 reason why Japan is nubbed to a point they are now is because US trying to inhibit their militaristic ambition. That is the major reason why they are only allow 1% of GDP in their military, it's not because they fear the Russian or Chinese.

Problem is, now China get what they wanted, a fully unleashed Japan now with US as an allies, I don't know how Chinese government see things, but I would have think it would be better for China to face a Japan that totally relied on US, because that means you are only facing the US, rather than a fully fledge Japan with US as its allies......Because now you would have to deal with both US and Japan.

When they contract, it's even more impressive, China built 60% of the world's total warships in tonnage and Japan till now can not even make a fighter jet by its own, and it's rockets keep failing to fly to the space. it's 2023 now, not 1980's.

If you talk about 70 years ago, check out Korean war, if you talk about now, neither Japan and China have real battle combat experience but China always spends lots of money and time to train PLA, it's not the case in Japan. Over Japan , China has both huge numerical and technological advantages.
