You can not have a good military wthout good economy and Russian economy is trash even Canada has a higher GDP. NATO has no reason to interfere when Russia is shooting itself in the foot. They don't consider Russia a threat anymore, there eyes are on China.

Thats not how warfare works. If that was the case then small nations never would win against economically superior foes. Britain would still be a small island nation without having chance of becoming a global empire and Russia would still be a small pricipality centered in Kiev.

And for that matter Pakistan would never have chance against India.

The Russian economy PPP is the 6th largest in the world. Does that like "trash" to you? Canada is not even in top 10. Stop using Nominal GDP when PPP is more accurate and more useful. Russia defence budget in PPP terms is close to 200 billion USD! Read this article:

" You can not have a good military wthout good economy". Not true. The Russians have the worlds second most powerful without a good economy? I can give you other countries with much lower GDP per capita than Russia with a good military. For example India, Pakistan and Egypt.

That being said the Japanese have not fought an armed conflict since the Second World War and their population has no stomach for a fight as evident from every survey showing them to be the population least likely to fight for their country.
What would probably happen is the Japanese will take a few hundred dead and then quickly ask for terms.

It has maintenance issues, has a relatively lower bar when it comes to tech compared to the JMSDF etc. No it's not weak if we take the core meaning but when up against their Japanese rivals yes it is.
