Don't know how true this news is.

I can see Russia building bases in Azerbaijan with remotely possibility. But asking for bases in Cyprus? Why not ask the UK for permission to build a Russian Base in London or Portsmouth? Or Ask the French for a Russian base in Paris?

Did they know Cyprus is part of EU??

Azerbaijan has made it before that it will not deploy any base in its territory.. Even US wanted it to much against Iran, but they refused..

I ask this my Turkish brothers. I have read a lot of childish comments from Turkish posters on this thread. They seem consumed by hate for Russia for a reason not known to me.

All are in this war for their interest. It seems Russian and Turkish interests are colliding in Syria.

Turkey is wary of Kurdish insurgency. Its a valid concern. That is why it has been soft on ISIS and allows ISIS oil trade through its territory. ISIS is a bigger danger right now. By fighting ISIS directly Kurds are getting stronger. The only ground forces fighting ISIS are some hodge podge shia militias, Kurd forces and Syrian army.

Look Russia has been bombing ethnic Turks in Syria instead of Isis for a while now. Turkey warned Russia not to bomb the Syrian Turkmen but they didn't listen. This incident was a response from turkey to Russia because of the recent bombings on Turkmen.
