What's new

Rs 80,000 crore worth defence projects cleared, 6 submarines to be built in India

So this is the final tally of all that was cleared to be "MADE IN INDIA" :D

1. 6 new submarines to be MADE IN INDIA by private players which will create a whole new eco system of vendors and sub vendors who are tuned to military standards. A private Industrial-Military complex in other words. Rs. 50-53000 Crores for this.

2. Two Swimmer Delivery Vehicle for INR 2,017 Crores or 165 Million $ for each 150 Tons "mini Submarine". (This might be US govt 2 govt purchase)

3. 3,200 Crores for Spike launchers and missiles. 321 launchers and 8,356 missiles. This will involve total ToT for large scale indigenous manufacturing. Final production of this missile will be worth Rs. 20,000 Crores or 3.2 Billion $. Any Idea how many missiles that would be ? :D

4. 1,850 crores for 12 Dornier which are completely made in India, including its engine the TPE 331-5.

5. 1,800 Cr for 368 BMP-2 which is also completely made in India.

6. 740 Cr for 1,768 railway wagons to transport Tanks, missiles etc which is completely made in India.

7. 662 cr for 1,761 radio relay containers which is also made in India.

8. 1,436 crores for Russian Uran missiles for IN ships.

Which means 76,500 Crores is directly being pumped into India and not into any foreign countries.

Submarine plan was stuck with the UPA since 2007. Even the tender was not issued for the last 7 years under UPA :woot:

NDA govt. has directed the DAC to identify the potential shipyards within 6 weeks and issue RFP to them ....

......and then there are others who continue to lament there is no difference between UPA and NDA

NDA is the real deal, although I am a secular person still NDA is what we need. I wouldn't have give a ratass about nationalism if we didn't share borders with an unstable nuke-loaded failed state and another communist super power who are hostile against India .

If it was not for pakistan or china then it would be hostilities from the US or Europe, if not them then it would be hostilities from the Arabs.

Reality is unless we are nationalists others will continue to try and exploit us. You want to live with dignity and self respect ? then become a nationalist. There is no other alternatives.

The only other alternative is to learn to live by compromising your dignity and honour.

True.

The difference is, that IN today requires AIP and a land attack capability, while they weren't mandatory in the earlier competition. On the rest as explained earlier:

We are not necessarily going for a new sub, we just use the competition to get more benefits for us wrt costs, offsets or ToT. If we ask DCNS for a simple addional order of Scorpenes, we won't be able to negotiate much, but if they feel the pressure of competition offers, they have to give us more too. It is even very likely that we will just order more Scorpenes, since it fulfills our requirements of AIP and land attack missiles (most likely export versions of the naval Scalp) and have the benefit of the already existing production line as you said, but producing them on 2 seperate production lines would be a silly idea.

Come on Sir, You're not Serious, Are you??? Just to Negotiate with the French we need to spend 500Mil more on each Subs??
The Cost is way too much and if anything the cost is only going to increase. Our last two subs are coming with the AIP right! i don't know if the scorpion is capable of carrying the land attack missiles.though it'll not cost close to 1Bil per sub.But if they do its totally unnecessary of putting out this much cash for only 6 subs, don't you think ????

Now with this new sham defense deal of submarines, India navy jumps on the band wagon

Why do you worry about that??? Why don't you cry about your Navy which the size of our Coast guard
Lol.... We just cleared some deals worth the entire Pakistan's defence Budget:lol::lol::lol::rofl:

Jaguar has Turbofan engine & Dornier has Turbo-propeller engine & licence produced by HAL in its Koraput engine facility.

Oh boy, you guys really need to inform yourself and get an idea about what is happening and not simply take everything for granted what political parties or the media tells us!

Submarine deals

P75 deal under former government - licence production of a foreign sub in India at government owned shipyard
P75"I" deal under the new government - licence production of a foreign sub in India at privat shipyard

LUH / N-LUH helicopter deal

Under former government - licence production of foreign helicopters in India at government owned aero company
Under the new government government - licence production of foreign helicopters in India at a privat aero company

So the new government is not ordering any indigenous helicopters or submarines, is not creating a new policy and is actually causing more delays and more costs for the taxpayer in these deals!

Thanks for the clarity as I was totally confused from reading this thread on what is going on. Now, everything is clear.

. .
I am not understanding one thing
50,000 + 3200 + 2017 + 1850 + 1800 + 1436 + 740 + 662 = 61,705.
80,000 kaise hua?
What was ordered for the remaining 18,295 crores

.
Better use that money for reducing poverty and building toilets all over india .

Why don't you try that on your Motherland first. Spend all your Money on Toilets and Reducing Poverty instead of WOT. Lets see how far your country progresses that way. If you guys manage to pull out your country out from the current crisis adopting your methodology, then almost all the developing countries would walk your way. Until then we would prefer to walk over conventional norms.
