World silence on Myanmar violence is ‘picture of shame’

Turkey tells Bangladesh: Open your doors to Rohingya
By Suleyman Elcin
ANTALYA, Turkey

Turkey’s foreign minister on Saturday decried other Muslim countries' silence on the plight of the Rohingya Muslims.

"There are a great many Muslim countries. Where are they? Why are they silent?" Mevlut Cavusoglu asked at an event marking the Muslim Eid-al Adha holiday in the Mediterranean province of Antalya.

He said to date Turkey had delivered more than $70 million in humanitarian aid to the Rohingya Muslims, and that no country in the world was showing more concern for the Rohingya than Turkey.

But, he added: "It’s not enough to deliver aid. In two weeks we need to hold a meeting in New York with the UN’s secretary-general, leaders of Muslim countries, international organizations, head of the UN Advisory Commission on Rakhine State, Kofi Annan, and other leaders to solve this issue."

Violence erupted in Myanmar’s Rakhine state on Aug. 25 when the country’s security forces launched an operation against the Rohingya Muslim community. It triggered a fresh influx of refugees towards neighboring Bangladesh, though the country sealed off its border to refugees.

Media reports said Myanmar security forces used disproportionate force, displacing thousands of Rohingya villagers and destroying their homes with mortars and machine guns.

The region has seen simmering tension between its Buddhist and Muslim populations since communal violence broke out in 2012.

A security crackdown launched last October in Maungdaw, where Rohingya make up the majority, led to a UN report on human rights violations by security forces that indicated crimes against humanity.

The UN documented mass gang-rape, killings -- including infants and young children -- brutal beatings, and disappearances. Rohingya representatives have said approximately 400 people have been slain during the crackdown.

I am only supporting MM take out the terrorists. Not all Rohingya are terrorist of course, only some are (and no one really knows the number or prevalence). Many regular Rohingya provide support to such groups though and delineating that is always an issue in the response. On top of all of this, the new conflict of course creates regular stream of refugees anyway...which ones of those are directly culpable, semi-culpable or totally non-culpable w.r.t the terrorism + terrorism support? Never easy to answer that, in fact its largely impossible given the emotions running on both sides.

Way I see it, the problem only gets addressed seriously if you physically remove as much rohingya from arakan and put them in BD (BD being both the origin of these people and closest country to the conflict area)....whatever anyone opinion on the morality of that solution. There is simply no more inherent, underlying trust between Myanmar + Arakanese on one side and Rohingya on other side (and each side will always blame the other one as "starting it"/"expanding it" etc)....and maybe it never existed in first place.

Thus such a situation is not sustainable (in interest of human life preservation and social stability) and whichever option addressed separation of these populations should be done first. Occam razor suggests that Rohingya move away, sell off what they can in MM and start new lives in BD. When you give enough time, there can then be rapprochement and better settling of these problems in the future.

But the BD members proposals for Rohingya to stay put and start some terrorist/guerilla/militant strategy against Myanmar will only result in more deaths on both sides (and it will be mostly stacked against Rohingya)....for the sake of what? It's mostly to address their own seriously flawed ego essentially. That is always bad reason when human lives and futures are at stake. BD will get financial support to support and rehabilitate the Rohingya anyway when it asks relevant countries and organisations....that should be the focus of BD now.....they (both BD and Rohingya) are not going to win eye for an eye style with MM.

There is simply no easy solutions about this. So far Indonesia and Malaysia trying to brokering peace process between Rohingyas and Myanmar government trough bangladesh channel. So far this approach kinda worked till When some terrorist outfit attacking Myanmar gov. Soldiers and police. Consequently we are kinda fine if they are trying to pursue and hunt the attacker. As long as the red lines is not crossed (something like Srebenica massacres), i believe Indonesia and Malaysia can only protest and bring true humanitarian air for the affected Rohingyas about this "forced relocation" here and there in Arakan.

But when the Red line is crossed, i dont believe Indonesia and Malaysia top politician will sit iddly, both countries had significant Islam parties and fleeting voters in which their voices need to be catering by politician especially when both Countries is in near election year. If you reading carefully about Malaysian, they had nasty habit to arming, funding and train Militants outfits from many Muslim world countries, (the recent example is MILF, insurgence in Southern Thailand, and till now including Hamas and Chechen). It will be bad if someday they chose to do so again in Myanmar. In the end i believe Myanmar not such a fool to cross the line in which will damaging themselves

It is about religion otherwise you won't be posting on this thread I don't see you guys talking about arming tibetan's or any others .
There are more than 50 Muslims countries ,don't tell me you can accommodate these people
India has said will take all the Hindus, sikhs.,jains who are escaping oppression,we don't place and restrictions on the numbers,we have been taking Hindus from both Pakistan and BD,but you won't see us talking about arming them.

My question is simple you claim Islam is religion of peace and I know for a fact,Islam says killing an innocent is like killing the whole humanity, when you guys advocate arming them are you sure innocents will not be killed.

No you are wrong, you will not see us talking about arming them, infact we have been taking then when ever they came asking for it
Oh please! You are the only one crying about religion. I am posting here to figure out the root cause of this rohingya issue.

Don't pretend to be a saint you and your people openly support bla terrorists even tried to fund and arm them. bla has no correlation with indians. Rohingyas have no correlation with india either they are natives to myanmar.

Why should we care or give shelter about Rohingyas?

They are essentially Bangladeshis.
I know right what were those rohingyas thinking trying to flee to india.
gitmo is a better place for them compared to india.

And you claim you are Muslim?

We know that you Indonesians are cowards as
your men are effeminate and so no-one is
asking you to go and fight.
At least have some quality and condemn these
Barman savages who are clearly bigoted against
Muslims.

Lol, talking though but no action is what Bd can do. Indonesian today acting mature in International stages. Unless something in scale of Srebenica massacre happened we can only protest and asking clarification about what happened there and here and giving humanitarian aids. After all thats Myanmar internal conflict. Thats the least we can do. How about your country! how many Myanmar Chopper flying trough your border? If Myanmar Rakhine state is at our border, since day one conflict happened we will seal and guards all of the border and put our strength there just like what we had done when Marawi conflict erupted.

I already told you when you Burmese faggots claim something come with neutral source. And you came with social site source...

Source or never happened...
lol the interviews with victim is more stronger evidence than what normal media talk and all are official release. dumbass

Just keep this in mind @Aung Zaya and make sure all Myanmar people you know understand this is the attitude of even the so called "secular" BAL types in BD.

I know you understand whats needed to be done now though. Happy hunting. Watch these losers cry here about reality unfolding whenever you want. I think it will be a full rest of the year (and probably next year too) long thing now. Aung San Suu Kyi also probably understands the problem quite deeply now and I think will pose no resistance to MM military to get the job done against the terrorists.
agreed.this bangladeshi rats never be good friends with its neighbours.
it's time to hunt down the terrorists. and we will provide more aid and care to peaceful rohingya and thanks to their act who against the ARSA rohingya terrorist. they will be considered priority in giveing citizenship. for the terrorists , there is only doomed days for them in future.

more interviews with victims.

Don't call ARSA a terrorist organization as none of the media, country or UN used the term except Burmese thugs and you.
Initial indication suggest its a secular insurgency and if they live up with their coomitmetment, the help could be on their way. There seems that they already earned popular suuport from bd. If BD wants they could take the fight to a complete new level. One minister already asking for a safe zone inside mm where mom army will be barred from entering. This is the first time such suggestion came from BD government. Wait for few more weeks

Stop being a thug and smell some fresh air.
