why are we going in circles saying the same thing again and again.....?

if you are the acm...when a reporters keep asking you what will you do when pakistan does this, does that...what will you do..? naturally you will say we will retaliate.....i dont see how this is wrong on the part of the acm...its declared indian policy and the acm is just reiterating that.....

why does Pakistan accept that the present LOC be made as international border, both of us can sit there at ease.

Apply the "Atooth Ang" theory to Kashmir and Pakistan. That's why.

every indian knows that pak occupied kashmir will never be joined again with india....if pakistan gives this offer of loc=ib...you will be surprised how soon indian negotiators agree to that....but pakistan i fear will not propose it...or agree to it...if india proposes it.....

As long as the human race exist, this issue is not going to end, you add to your first strike capability and lets add to our second strike and when that all happens lets smile at each other and die

If the Army had been fighting along with the Pathans, then our gains would never have been reversed. It was only when the Army joined in that we were able to push the Indian advance from Muzaffarabad to Chakothi before a ceasefire was declared. And 47 wasn't even a real war, most of the people were former unit fellows. Many units here have there mess plastered with pictures of Pakistani and Indian soldiers sitting together during the 47 war. There is also the famous story of the Sikhs who attended a concert for Pakistani troops in Kashmir during the 47 war. A Punjabi folk song was being played and troops were surprised to see a weeping sikh in their midst, they called all his fellows, had dinner together and then personally escorted them back to their post.

Not really mate.

Yeah not doubt Indians and Pakistanis getting along. People to people contact between Indians and Pakistani is really strong.

I thought he was responding to the news of the 'addition of 24 missiles with ranges of 700KM to 100KM' - these missiles would not be used for 'Tactical strikes'. The Hatf IX series is the missile expected to be used with tactical nukes, and the extremely short range of that particular missile series would suggest the use of tactical nukes on Pakistani soil against advancing Indian forces.

My bad.. Got mixed up between the more talked about short range NASR and this news article :(

Yes but the Problem is that India due to is larger territorial expanse would have significant resources left after the Pakistani Strike.

Merely having 'territory' does not make a successful nation. The massive loss of infrastructure, economic impact, dealing with the fallout, the sick and dying millions, if not hundreds of millions - it'll take a long time to recover.

And India (nor Pakistan) does not possess either the yield nor the numbers of nuclear weapons to 'wipe out all of Pakistan'. At best India could take out the major population centers, which is something Pakistan can match in India, given its numerically larger arsenal.

Do the people of J&K accept that? Only a neutral referendum would determine that.

are still the Pandit race surving there, the famous LeT and other networks made sure that either they leave the land or get burried with out a trace and how come you are saying that the peoples voice should be heared.

Same ol Same Ol... Each individual state in India does not have the right to determine the national boundaries.. Democracy is at a country level and not state level. And I know the response will be around disputed status and all the other stuff that goes around the Kashmir issue, but the truth of the matter is that finally, the solution of Kashmir issue from India's side will be determined by the whole population of India (including those living in J&K) and not by just the residents of that state

The Pundits can be tracked down and registered by the UN, as can the millions of Kashmiris settled in the UK, Europe, Pakistan etc. and their votes also counted.

You really don't have an argument here - the Kashmiri diaspora settled abroad and in Pakistan significantly outnumbers the Pandits from J&K now residing outside of j&K.

You leave out one crucial detail - that J&K is not a 'State in India', it is disputed territory divided between Pakistan and India.

did all the people agree to partition or to any subsequent events......?...there is no neutral referendum as the demography chnages are grastic on pak side....to balance out hat...india must be allowed to scrap article 370 for 60 years...allow people from any part of india to settle in kashmir and then go for a referendum...

btw you are wrong in saying jammu and kashmir...its the kashmir valley....just kashmir valley.....

But then Afghanistan can ask for the same because they don't recognise Durand line as an International Border.

They can ask for referendum in Balochistan and NWFP as well. :)
