No it's is actually quite related to this topic, since the topic is about Perry's ignorance. And Perry is talking about cutting the "aid" to Turkey, as in Turkey recieves aid from USA. The last aid recieved was in the 80's as former stated in this thread.

So Ottoman-Turk's post is showing that USA actually was paying Ottoman Empire bills, and not "aid" 200 years ago. But truly it is a little insignificant information, but nothing wrong stating, since it is actual facts of the history.

Ad no it is not relevent to this thread at all. Being proud of what you have done for yourself, for your nation is logical. Being proud of what your nation has done for you is logical. Being proud of what your nation done 200 years ago is some what logical and helps people to cope with life but having wet dreams about past is both illogical and pitiful.

The only reason he/she wrote that comment because he wantted to brag about something that happened 200 years ago and meditate his Turkish superiority. I am a Turk, I am proud to be one but things like this are childish and humiliating.

Contrary to your saying, Turks are nationalists who react to opponents' behaviors. I never saw fascism nazism in Turkish nationalists. It was the Europeans who drives others from their land in search of lebensraum. Turkish nationalism promotes unity between Turkic States, not conquest.
