A explosion rocked the western Iranian city of Isfahan on Monday, the semi-official Fars news agency reported, adding that the blast was heard in several parts of the city.

The reported incident occurred about two weeks after Gen. Hasan Tehrani Moghaddam was killed together with 20 other Guard members Nov. 12 at a military site outside Bidganeh village, 40 kilometers southwest of Tehran.

The Revolutionary Guard said the accidental explosion occurred while military personnel were transporting munitions.

It should be noted that Iran operates a uranium conversion plant near Isfahan, one with an important function in the chain of Iran's nuclear program.

It first went into operation in 2004, taking uranium from mines and producing uranium fluoride gas, which then feeds the centrifuges that enrich the uranium.

Since 2004, thousands of kilograms of uranium flouride gas were stockpiled at Isfahan and subsequently sent to the enrichment plant in Natanz.

Now Israelis are making news themselfs ? lol how pathetic people can get

Yes there was an explosion in Esfahan. But nothing to do with Natanz.
I know the place where it happened. Still we don't know what happened.

Fact is that it appeared in fars news but then they deleted the news.
Maybe they are planning to rewrite with better explanations of what happened?

. . .
Apparently it was on Fars and then they took it off..

It was on Fars News but was later taken down.

This is what happens when the government controls news papers, there are already denials about the blast.

Less than two weeks after a mysterious explosion destroyed an Iranian missile base near Tehran, the Islamic Republic's official news agency FARS reported Tuesday that a loud blast was heard in the city of Isfahan at 2:40 pm local time, but later removed the report.

According to the initial report, search and rescue teams called to the scene confirmed the blast, but reported no injuries.

Iran's uranium enrichment plant is located just outside Isfahan – one of Iran's largest cities.

The report also stated that a security official confirmed that the explosion had occurred, but refused to give further details.

The district's security department head Muhammad Mahdi Ismaili told the news agency that he hadn't received "exact information, but the incident is being investigated."

In a curious turn of events, shortly after the initial report was published, the item was removed from the news agency's website, which is affiliated with the country's Revolutionary Guard.

Hours later, deputy governor of Isfahan province told Iran's Mehr news agency that there was no report of a major explosion in the province.

Two weeks ago, 17 Iranian servicemen were killed and several others seriously wounded in an explosion at a military base that stored missiles near Tehran. The explosion also killed Hassan Tehrani Moqaddam, one of the key figures in Iran's missile program.

Earlier on Monday, The IDF head of Intelligence Research Department Brigadier General Itai baron told the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that "the blast in the site where surface-to-surface missiles were developed can delay or bring to a complete halt the production of the missiles at that site."

"However," Baron cautioned, "It must be emphasized that Iran has other development sites other than the one that was destroyed.

^^ Fars is a hardline website affiliated to IRGC media department. It is no official media authority within the country.
Like i said, either it must get reported by IRNA,ISNA (2 media authorities) or its a fake news. And most probably Fars took it off to modify the article

cheers

Iranian media report almost everything. If they didnt then how would you ever find about the blast at IRGC military base or the assasination of nuclear scientists ? would Mossad come out and announce the news ? LOL

. .
i just called Farsnews, the guy on the phone told me they didnt post any article about a bomb explosion...its fake as you can also see on their website Fars News Agency

if there was a "big bomb explosion" in Esfahan (one of biggest cities in iran) there would be breaking news all over iran....

Just like the assassinated Nuclear scientists were said to be just students but later it was admitted that they were working on the nuclear program?

Or how the last blast was an accident and then Iran vowed revenge against Israel?

"I know" one of them and he was just a teacher not even in the nuclear field at all.
The story of assassination having something strange and bullshit.
And the guy was in the green movment. !

And no: the government said they never worked on nuclear program of Iran.

How can you possibly know that with 100% certainty? Things aren`t always as simple as they seem.
