The cost will not go up. If anything there is talk of penalty but it will NOT get imposed because the original owners of the shipyard were in a debt trap and the new ones have not only bought the yard, rescuing the whole program, their work speed has been impressive as they have invested big.

This yard is now also refitting three naval ships too.

When it comes to shipbuilding, Pipavav had some slips, but the new management (Reliance) has done a good work speeding things up.

The LHD deal is a huge opportunity for private sector shipyards, so is next generation corvette/ missile vessel programs.

Yes, L&T (Hazira & Kattupalli yards) & Reliance (Pipavav). These are enough to churn out such ships 'like sausages'.
