Rashid Latif returns to Pakistan in dismay

Rashid Latif came back to Pakistan after having a stint as the Afghanistan cricket team coach.



Former Pakistan cricket captain Rashid Latif returned to Pakistan with bitter memories as his career would expire on July 31.


Rumours are circulating that few Afghan player did not want extension in the contract of Latif, who was in charge of the team toured Pakistan last month. During the tour Afghanistan was outplayed by Pakistan A and lost the one-day international series by 3-0.


Latif said that Afghan players deliberately played poor cricket on Pakistan tour because they wanted to prove him a bad coach so they could have Kabir Khan back as Afghan coach.

He is a better coach...but again politics plays its role..

He was a pakistani fast bowler in the mid-late 90s. Unfortunatly for him the two "W's", Waqar and Wasim were at their peaks then and Khan got no chance to break through. He managed a few ODI's only i think

But i am sure that is not what non pashtun players in the Afghan team would be insisting for.

Have no idea why. Maybe he was genuinely a better coach than Rashid Latif
