RAFALE IN ANGER: 10 Dispatches From A War Cockpit

oh not an open forum, you need mates to help you with that and since india is easier to get info from im trying to get it from there. you cant get giltch from open forums
India might be easier to get information out of given its democratic nature but that doesn't mean it hands out strategically sensitive information to all and sundry.

Once again, you will never find out the exact figures you are seeking.

.
What kind of a man or a Indian citizen you are?
Your PM has degraded the ethics of PMO by following abusive Twitter IDs and has inducted criminals in the cabinet and this is ok with you?

Had it been Sweden, Norway, Japan, South Korea, Canada....He would have been removed and proceeded against, kicked into the curb.

This only shows your how Indians behave, no wonder with such mentality, India will not be at the top soon.
It only languishes.

You must criticise your PM, hold him responsible for his ill doings.
Yet, what I see in you?
He is our PM.

Shame on your inner thoughts.

I do not think Modi has done anything that will warrant this anger. He is better than his predecessors.
I think you have a petty gripe against all things Indian

It's a done deal between Safran and GRTE, Safran have even started recruiting specialists in France (and India) to work on the Kaveri with GRTE:

This is one of the critical elements of the G2G Rafale deal and is being given upmost attention in the GoI/MoD/PMO. IF France can deliver what they have promised on the Kaveri then they will be rewarded (a hell of a lot of Rafales) and I'm sure they know it.

The above news is from Force. It still says there is discussion going on, on what Safran intends to do with Kaveri. Although I am reading the adverts by Safran for Kaveri VP and engineers. I still think its not yet clear. Although fairly positive but I will remain skeptical. I just hope that they start working on the Kabini core and redevelop it.

@Blue Marlin
India will receive the first six Rafale aircrafts in September 2019, and delivery of all 36 fighters will be completed by the end of 2022. Dassault Aviation will also make specific changes for India and mount new-generation Meteor and Scalp missiles.
Of the €7.8 billion, the platform costs approximately €3.42 billion; another €1.8 billion is for infrastructure and support supplies; €1.7 billion will be spent to meet India-specific changes to the aircraft; €710 million is for the additional weapons package; and €353 million is the cost of performance-based logistics support.

It's a done deal bro

The good news for the programme is that the DRDO has been given a virtual carte blanche to channelise offsets from the Indian Rafale deal to resurrect the Kaveri. Snecma, a partner in the Rafale programme, builds the Rafale’s twin M88 turbofan engines. Under the terms of the partnership finalised late last year, Snecma is working to modify, certify and integrate the Kaveri on a Light Combat Aircraft airframe before 2020

Speaking at the Aero India 2017 exhibition on 15 February, India's defence minister Manohar Parrikar said that Safran Aircraft Engines will use technologies from its M88 engine for the Rafale fighter to revive the Kaveri engine programme. French assistance is part of the offset deal for the 36 Rafale jets that India bought for its air force in September 2016.

I pray to God, its true and a done deal. But when it comes to DRDO channeling its efforts I will remain skeptical (imply because they are not good negotiators and will wash their hands off with little trouble), however I also read that this project is given highest priority and is being overseen by MOD. I also read that the technology to build single crystal blades are still not available with us although good work has progressed on the cobalt casing thing.

2020 seems unlikely though, thats when they said they will fit into LCA right?

2019-20 is when the French side have said they will mate the new Kaveri onto the LCA (like I said, 2 LCA test beds have been readied for this purpose) but it will be many years of testing before it could be considered available for operational deployment.

lol dont be surprised if you find this monster in pakistani colours

Not happening.

Why waste acquiring another 4th gen platform now? Better to stick it out and acquire 5th gen fighters instead. JF-17 and F-16 will suffice to make up our 4th gen fleet, and J-31 along with TFX and Pakistani indigenous 5th gen fighter can make up our 5th gen fleet.

.
Rafale is really a class apart, arguably the best fighter of its generation.
& IAF is surely not stopping at that 36 number!
I wish they don't with the Chinese situation, I think ordering more Rafales will be done to mitigate risk.

The Chinese are playing a stupid game by provoking India under this govt/PM and under these circumstances. There is broad bi-partisan support for giving the Chinese a firm reply and this is one of the few govts/PMs that will actually turn this into a reality.

The Rafale is explicitly to be used against the Chinese, it is almost tailor made for this threat, all the Chinese are doing is making the decsion to order many more Rafales easier.

.
No doubt about it! Outside of the US (with their F22), it is the best fighter money can buy and it is goign to transform the way the IAF's functions across the board, not just from an operational perspective.
When are you giving me the news of additional order mate?

In or around 2019 bro, the requisite infrastructure doesn't exist in India right now (but is being created as we speak by DRAL) for MII.

Watch the navy, their requirement for 57 carrier fighters is going to spark off the next round of Rafale orders for the IAF.

That makes sense. Thanks a lot. So they split while Dassault is working on the ground figuring out the how to do what to know stuff. Now they entire 36 thing makes way more sense. You answered the puzzle to me.
