What would be really interesting is what President Hollande putting to the table with India besides pushing Dassault
Few days back a negative news about Hollande lack luster performance about def deals came out where clearly Mistral and fallout of MMRCA tender were listed..along with Egypt deal which even though French Banks are part bankrolling yet the quality of credit is just a shade above Greece...Experts Estimated range to around 60Bn $ loss of new business opportunities purely stating the present President Hollande is not having enough clout as compared to Previous French Presidents as well as not able to achieve crucial breakthroughs by not sufficiently pushing French Military complex..The experts viewed ex President N Sarkozy would have wrapped Indian big deal by now.. Such hard hitting articles were causing enough ripples ...
i quote
"Military contract bungles by President François Hollande’s government have cost France nearly $60 billion, according to a damning report Tuesday from Boulevard Voltaire, a left-leaning newspaper based in Paris. In addition to the $2.2 billion that the failed Mistral deal with Russia is set to cost, another two fumbled contracts with India and Egypt for hundreds of Dassault Rafale fighter jets will see Paris lose an additional $57 billion."
So i was expecting that finally intervention from highest levels would happen and perhaps president Hollande would talk with PM modi and in turn make Dassault also come to some amicable terms to clinch the deal.. the 36 fly away and the MMRCA 90 jets under make in india and perhaps some future follow on orders again in 10-18 flyaway and 53-45 under MII... You could see some more progress besides Rafale deal with other french offerings too (perhaps scorpene follow on too).. So finally Rafale train is changing gears and catching some much needed steam..
Thanks to such articles who spread some panic to do damage repair..
