I guess some individuals in this forum cannot change there stance because they have too much skeletons in there closet. They would still support the corrupt and the elite because they are benefiting financially. However its frustrating and annoying because Pakistan is suffering. Just yesterday I spoke to my Chinese friend, and he was complaining to me that his father wants to come to Karachi and do a deal with Pakistan steel mill, however the target killing and law and order is so bad, he is afraid to come. Its actually one of the biggest steel companies in China, called Shangdong Steel. I really hope things move ahead quite fast, but respect should be given to TUQ.

Friend,
Don't you get dejected, yes I know there are peoples getting benefited from, crouption these days but its not going to last long further more, I belive!
& remember belive is our power,we going to win inshallaha!
Yes its very horible ,depressing,& frustrating when see karachi being burrned down to ashes, poor got killed by unknown knowns jst his poor home, was at a location where someone want to bulid plaza or a decent appratment?
Or if gangs of talibans bieng given a licence to kill?
Its no time to invest in,I was born n razed in karachi, I fought for karAchi & I ended up in army because of this fight??
Today media is more effective,bt in my days it wasn't? & in those days the killings & dameges were far higher thn today!
Bt we kept our belives, & did our best to keep fighting, & in the 10 years of musharaf we brought that karachi back into 2000s?
Pakistan needs a change, weither by hook or crook, that's what I belive, cause taking pakistan back from the evil is far more important thn keep thinking its ways?
QADRI shb ,was sent to beat them by their own game, & he is just doing that?
Hopefully ,it will bring something good sure, election or no election anyway?
Tell your friend & his dady, that this is not the right time to invest in here!
They should wait around 8 more months, guss?

SC questions Qadri’s right to move court against*ECP

The Supreme Court has admitted a petition by Dr
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has ordered Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri to submit required documents pertaining to his dual nationality and regarding his claims of being a stakeholder in Pakistan’s democratic system.
A three-member bench of the Supreme Court, comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justices Gulzar Ahmed and Sheikh Azmat Saeed, was hearing on Monday Qadri’s petition for the reconstitution of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
The petition calls for the reconstitution of the commission on the basis that the ECP’s chief and four members were not appointed according to the provisions of the constitution.
Qadri argues that their appointments are therefore void ab intio, and pleads the court to restrain the commission from functioning pending a decision in the case.
During Monday’s proceedings, the apex court grilled Dr Qadri over the status of his Canadian citizenship with repeated queries revolving around his locus standi against the composition of the ECP.
The chief justice said knowledge of Qadri’s nationality was pertinent for the court in order to proceed further with the case.
Qadri informed the court that he was both a citizen of Pakistan and a Canadian national. He informed the court that he had attained Canadian nationality in 2005 when he resigned from the National Assembly. He added that he had applied for citizenship in 1997.
“Can the government of Pakistan, with all respect to you, allow such a person to retain its citizenship?” the CJ posed a question.
“One thing is clear: you can not be a member of parliament, because, according to the constitution, a dual-national can not become a lawmaker,” said Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry.
The bench inquired if he had acquired foreign nationality due to any threats, to which he replied that he had not attained Canadian nationality on the basis of any dangers to his life.
“After acquiring citizenship, one has to take an oath of allegiance,” remarked the chief justice. “How can somebody who takes an oath of allegiance to another country be loyal to Pakistan?”
“If I seek allegiance of a foreign country, then how can I say that the parliament which represents the will of 18 million to 20 million people, is suffering from flaws,” he observed.
Qadri maintained that under Pakistan’s constitution, he was not allowed to contest elections and enter into parliament but under the relevant laws, he could retain his Pakistani nationality.
Qadri added that he had appeared before the bench as a voter, as the law differentiates between a voter and an elected representative.
To a query by the bench, Attorney General Irfan Qadir informed the court that a dual nationality holder could approach the SC under the provisions of fundamental rights and there was no such bar.
He said that he would oppose the contentions of the petitioner, but he should be given an opportunity of putting up his case.
The bench ordered Qadri to submit in court documents pertaining to his Canadian nationality, and adjourned further hearing to Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters later outside the SC, Qadri said that the Pakistani constitution allows voters to hold dual nationality.
“The law prohibits only elected representatives from holding dual nationality. However, according to the law, a Pakistani voter can hold nationalities of certain countries,” he said.
Earlier today, Qadri said he did not believe his petition could lead to a delay in the upcoming general elections, adding that his objective was to ensure that transparent polls be held in the country.
Qadri said the ECP had to fulfill the criterion of transparency in accordance with the Constitution.
Legal analysts and political commentators are attaching great importance to the case, saying serious issues raised in it may entail judicial intervention and delay the elections.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Chief Justice on Tuesday said a petition against the composition of the election commission, filed by Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri, was out of the Supreme Court’s jurisdiction.

A three-judge bench of the Supreme Court, headed by CJ Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, has been hearing a petition filed by Qadri seeking reconstitution of the Election Commission (ECP).

Dr Qadri has challenged the appointment of the chief election commissioner (CEC) and the remaining four members of the ECP, arguing that their appointments were not in accordance with the provisions of Articles 213 and 218 of the Constitution.

During Tuesday’s hearing, Chief Justice Iftikhar said Qadri’s petition was not under the SC’s jurisdiction as the case was filed as a quo-warranto petition and does not fall under Article 184 of the Constitution, Radio Pakistan reported.

According to the state-owned broadcast network, the chief justice advised Qadri to take his petition to a forum other than the apex court, such as a high court.

Earlier today, Qadri had submitted a written document regarding his locus standi (right to appear) in the case, as well as documents pertaining to his foreign nationality.

On Monday, the apex court had grilled the Pakistani-Canadian cleric over his dual nationality and had questioned his right to be a stakeholder in Pakistan’s democratic system.

Today, the bench further grilled Qadri over his dual nationality, raising further questions over his right to “attack a constitutional institution”.

Qadri said that a dual national is ineligible for membership of the parliament, but not barred to vote. “The Constitution of Pakistan does not bar anyone to have dual nationality,” he said.

‘Attack against a constitutional institution’

Addressing Qadri, the chief justice said: “You are not a common man, you are Sheikhul Islam. You have been delivering lectures in 90 countries. You have taken oath of loyalty to the British Queen and her descendants.”

The chief justice also remarked that could not let a foreign national come to Pakistan at his will and “attack a constitutional institution” former after years of efforts.

“You are touching an issue which attacks a constitutional institution established many years before…and you have just come back to Pakistan a couple of months ago and have challenged it (ECP),” he added.

The CJ remarked that the formation of the Election Commission has gone through a long and detailed process, and that a person couldn’t just come and point their finger at it.

The hearing was subsequently adjourned to Wednesday.

No decision yet

Speaking outside the SC following the hearing, Qadri told reporters that the court had not issued a ruling in the case, and said that the court is only trying to determine if it can proceed with this “unique” case.

“The judges have said that this is a unique case,” Qadri told reporters outside the court’s premises. “The judges say you are a dual national, and they want to determine if they can proceed further with the case (given my dual nationality).”

“My stance is that the constitution of Pakistan does not prohibit its citizens from holding dual nationality,” he said, adding that Pakistan has agreements with 16 countries on dual nationality.

“I have come to the SC for interpretation of the constitution. It is the court’s right to raise questions,” said Qadri, who is pleading his own case. “Nothing has been decided as yet. I will present my arguments, and the SC will decide.”

LAHORE: Chief of the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N), Nawaz Sharif says that Tahir ul Qadri is trying to hurt the election process with his unconstitutional demands, Geo News reported.

Speaking to the media in Lahore, Sharif added, that the government needs to decide on a caretaker setup, adding that he has instructed Chaudhry Nisar to sit with the government and decide on the matter.

Speaking on ties with neighbouring India, the former premier said that he wishes for peace with India, but it has to be a joint effort.

Regarding the ANP’s call for an all parties conference, Nawaz says his party will attend the conference and that Chaudhry Nisar, Raja Zafarul Haq and Shahbaz Sharif will represent the party, adding that the PML-N delegation will go in with only one agenda.

meet ANP, another traitor gang who always side with Hindu Mushriks against Muslims. Their leader Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan hated Pakistan so much that he refused to be buried in Pak Sarzameen and was taken to Soviet occupied Communist Afghanistan for burial (shukar ).

He was called Gandhi of frontier and had attempted to kill Quaid e Azam as well. They opposed Pakistan tooth and nail but Allah humiliated them. Today, along with MQM, they wage a war of terror in Karachi and ANP has also destroyed NWFP province through corruption and treason against the millat.

nawaz is the biggest lackey and arse licker, even zardari has more self respect than him, and nawaz is total sellout

he will even call his enemies to run pakistan if he needs to dave his politics

and thats why qadri is right when he says that ECP needs to be totally reformed and impartial and elections should not be rigged
