MOSCOW - Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a working visit to Egypt on Dec. 11, the Kremlin said Thursday.
Putin will discuss with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi "the development of Russian-Egyptian relations in the political, commercial, economic, energy and humanitarian fields," the Kremlin said in a statement.
"There will also be an exchange of views on the main points of the international agenda, particularly issues of ensuring security and stability in the Middle East and North Africa," the statement said.
A high-level Russian delegation arrived in Cairo on Thursday for a visit to Egypt where they will meet senior officials to prepare for the upcoming visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Egypt next week.
Security sources at the airport said that the delegation arrived on board a private plane from Moscow, which includes 35 Russian officials, to prepare for Putin's upcoming visit to Cairo and review the program of the visit and the meetings scheduled to be held by the Russian president, and was greeted by a number of diplomatic and security leaders.
The Russian delegation will meet with a number of senior officials and personalities, especially in the presidential institution, to prepare for the upcoming visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Egypt during the coming period and to review the schedule of the visit and the agreements to be signed in the military and energy fields, especially the signing of the agreement to establish a nuclear Plant in Dabaa, Egypt.
