What's new

PTI's Azadi March 14th August 2014 l Updates and debate.

Flight apron and ramps should not be made from patio pavers, but that is another story.

Let's see what updates are posted here soon.

Just another example of poor quality construction, that is all, but why go off topic? :D

Any updates on the dharna?

Actually I wanted to see you how you would respond :D, when the government is involved not their fault, machinery has been destroyed through decades, CM cannot control people under him etc. While for people, "Flight apron and ramps should not be made from patio pavers", seriously? There is a difference between government and people's work, everybody knows that, give them time like you gave the government and I'm sure they will do a better job than our government. But still credit should be given to them about their work.

Def. I still wonder why people dont unite in other cities and fix their own roads...they should just evade taxes just like the elites and collect money to build their own roads...I am sure they would make it cheaper and def would last longer....as it would be from their money and their sweat not like the govt....lagao paisa ...apna thori hai....naa hi apnay baap ka hai...urado!

Actually, that goes against the earlier contention that private sectors projects had better quality than government ones, which I contested. Most projects in Pakistan are of a poor quality, no matter who does them. Of course, an airport is still better than no airport. :D

Back to the topic, the questions that PTI has posed to the SC are important, and I look forward to how the Court responds.

Don't know about dharna but currently this is going viral.

There are some problems especially in big projects like these but still better than government's plan of having nothing especially for the hub of sports goods of Pakistan, again credit is not being given where it is due :D

You are asking for civil war then :D

It was more a case of pilot error than the airport authorities.

You don't do full engine run ups in taxiways and aprons. PERIOD.

In these sort of situations you take clearance from ATC and conduct your engine run up on the runway itself.

But then again, aprons and ramps are not made from patio pavers in properly constructed airports. :D

What is your opinion on the questions posed to the SC by PTI? Those are more relevant to the topic of this thread, are they not?

Let's look at it this way.

There is a gravel pathway and a proper asphalt road. The gravel path is just an access road. Now if I start drifting with my car and go nuts on the gravel and in the meanwhile destroy my tyres and bodywork, I won't be blaming the people who put the gravel there, but myself who started drifting on gravel and not on asphalt.

I'll give you a pretty honest and straight forward answer, take it for whatever you want.

I don't care what the SC does...bhar may jaye SC.

You may not care, but the SC has its own gravitas which must be respected, whether one agrees with its decisions or not.

No just that taxes should be utilized for the people not for luxury homes, maids and cars...people who get paid in 6 figures can afford that...so they aint gonna die hungry!

So you are saying a local type government should be formed which should collect taxes, serves people and not give it to provincial government?

something along those lines...Anything to keep the leeches away from the money....

Maybe having smaller districts would help where each administration is made of the local people themselves....people who actually work day jobs and also contribute to the taxes not landlords or elites who dont need to work and do politics as a pass time

This way....we wont have to pay the elites so they can go and purchase expensive land overseas nor do we need to provide them with maids nor with cars....though am not sure how to sift out the dirtballs from the common community itself :(

At least govt cant cry about taxes ...each district collects its own tax...does its own projects to develop if they have large projects they can share the money with other districts this way every district has a chance towards progress since each is responsible for its own income....none would be leeching or free riding on another

@Syed.Ali.Haider dont label me an anarchist...I may only be responsible for being a slight idealist to a dreamer :p:

Not at all. I do not label people for their personal views, for they have this inalienable right.

The only difference is that I prefer dreams that can be realized, that is all. But that is my personal view, which should equally respected, for I have this right too.
