PTI Comprehensively Humiliated in Karachi

Not surprising but ultimately speaks to how desperate Karachiites and Pakistanis in general are these days.
But here is the deal - it suits the system. The system is built to feed the elites(brass, politicians and main businesses families). Now like all countries it is really the same, the US also feeds its elite and it is essentially the middle class which bear the brunt of the state in terms of taxes and other “charges”. The poor then live off the government’s endowments based upon these taxes and any philanthropy that comes in from the elite. However, the US has a massive middle class that can sustain it.

However, in Pakistan it is even worse - the middle class is barely 5-10% of the population but not only does it bear the majority of taxes, restrictions and other idiotic policies of the Pakistani state/elite , they also have to look after the entire gamut of Pakistani poor who rely on them for everything from running their households to medical expenses. So being the middle class in Pakistan is a nightmare and the elite cannot realize that their focus on making sure their families have plots in DHA or scams in Sindh to buy apartments in London or Dubai is eating away at this middle class which enables that anyway. Whom they expect to be a donkey and quietly work at it - which many do out of having no other choice or being the product of the system. Which is geared to literally keep this ratio going so the elite can feed perpetually in their mind. What these elite pigs dont realize is that in their lack of vision they are happy making the same fixed carving out of the Pakistani camel while they could be making ten-folds if they let the wealth distribute and grow.

So, the city with the most potential is left as a death sentence for all that live in it, who are happy in their toad in a well situation because they have their Sabri nihari ,noorani kabab and burger kings.

I guess for 2023, it comes down to either Shabaz Sharif or Maryum Nawaz to lead Pakistan. That is only if PTI completes the rest of his term.
We might see a situation that the only party thay can keep those TLP fanatics at bay is PML-N.

How f**king depressing !

TLP is a reality

The sooner Pakistani liberals accept it the better

Try to bring them in mainstream. Talk to them. Make them work under law

Banning them won't do any good

What a great system if you are one of the elite. And if the system collapses, just move to where your wealth is stashed abroad. What is the problem here?

no matter who wins from karachi. No development will be done as long as ppp is there.

Just imagine a constituency which elect PMLN candidate in a province governed by PPP and have oversight from federal government of PTI.

I can only imagine how easy/difficult will it be for the MNA/MPA of that constituency to get funding.

Exactly - one can call BS on yesterday’s address by Biden, but the key point he made which stands out is that the free education till K-12 propelled the US to where it is now. Education makes all the difference and sadly Pakistan has none of it, but nuclear weapons.

TLP is a reality. I think they represent in a way a working class backlash against the crooked established elites of this country (Political and Military).

I disagree with you if they can be brought to the mainstream. To me they are a disruptive force like PTM, and their ascendence will end Pakistan.

This is the problem of whole of the Karachi not just one constituency .... and NO no one from the Federal Government could resolve it as long as PPP is in power.

TLP can take on PPP in this constituency. It can counter the Andh Bhutto vote easily there.

The last winning candidate held water management portfolio for the entire country. Literally the dam man.

PMLn has an advantage when it comes to administrative duties. Karachi needs administration before politics.

The media discourse in the mainstream is also not helping Imran Khan. He is incompetent that I agree, but he is certainly not any worse than the PPP at least.

PTI is also losing the social media space especially since the TLP fiasco.

There was a video on Facebook claiming IK is a Qadiani that had like 8 million views. Now how do you earn the trust of those millions again?

The real icing on the cake is that if some say it like it is, it is okay, but if I say it I get a negative response (and sanction). It does not matter to me anymore since I am independent now, but what it really shows is that there is enough of a pressure release valve so that some criticism is allowed (but only from trusted quarters that are pre-approved) like salt in nihari, just to keep things manageable. This bodes well to continued stability of the system until the inevitable happens for both the country and its microcosm here. That is how @krash can voice his/her opinions and @waz can continue to pretend that a fall from 22K to 51K is just a "fluckyouasian". :D

Back on topic, if you ever get the chance, look at satellite data for the Karachi metro area. It is truly astounding, and not in a good way, regardless of the politics.

PTI will be over from karachi completely as imran khan doesnt care about karachi. He's main focus is punjab to remain in power

So when he said Zinda Lashen, you voted for his honesty now he is doing what anyone would do with Zinda Lashen in honestly not caring, you accuse him of being greedy and dishonest.

How unfair!!

It would be super cool to see TLP mullah representing Pakistan in UNGA, and then slow burn talibization of Pakistan. Once they expel all western ambassadors from the country, Pakistanis would understand how Iranians faced isolation.

Suits Pakistanis really well.

For all those who are commenting about the result plz first check the historic trend of this constituency. [click here]

This low level of participation by the voters is message to all Political Parties participating in this election .....

Supreme Court should take notice how massive resource were used for mere 5 percent turn out.

It is a vote of no confidence for the entire political system of Pakistan.
