No , partition in my opinion was a mistake, it weakened the Muslims , by dividing them in to three zones , while uniting the Hindus into one platform, I believe in this very strongly , thanks to Partition today, close to 55 crore Muslims that's 550 million Muslims ! of south-Asia is divided , & close to 900 million Hindus are united, how is this a good thing is beyond me , so NO Bhai, thanks but, no thanks ! no more partition or division, if anything this is the time for a "Confederation"

I can't claim to speak for Indians but their answer to "confederation" should be thanks but NO thanks. It will be suicidal for India to ever even think about it. Don't think next 10 yrs but next 100's of years and you will appreciate what I am talking about.

well partition was good idea but its failed very badly . for pakistanis it was gain but after partition they start losing and losing till today . i am sure in future more partitions are expected no map is permanent and i am sure more countries will born . i did not see a single south asian country successful developed and well so nothing we got from partition we lost only . current situation in pakistan is heading toward new countries in future and i wish no more blood shed at next partitions.

first muslims want to separate from hindus sikhs
then in pakistan suddenly start new wave of declare ahmdis as non muslims
after few years banning and tightening laws of religion and society become more radical
few more years and shia and others groups come under fire
and latest 10 years madness and blood bath radicalize country emerged
now a days terrors sectarians terrorists criminals and crrupts are ruling the country.
no wonder more groups will emerge and Pakistan will be fall again as 1971

there will be a day for end madness .

Are you sure you are a Pakistani and not masquerading as one ? ;););)

Why are you saying that? Even sarcastically? This is an iconic member of the forum, who is known for blunt and forthright speech, who doesn't care who is pleased or displeased by his posts, and who hits straight from the shoulder.

I would suggest great respect, although he has a broad and earthy sense of humour, which emerges at the oddest times, in the oddest manner. :-)

Shows my ignorance about individuals on this board sir. But you may notice that I was also speaking tongue-in-cheek. To be sure I am not joking about confederation.

Of course you were. Just thought I'd tip you off, on the very remote chance that you might cheek him.

Correction* Mandarin Chinese is the most widely spoken language in the world. English is probably the most understood language in the world, due to British colonialism, and is also the most widely used from people who use is as their first language and second langues users, Remember English is the business language of the world. Not Hindi. :D

No Hindi is the most understood language in the world. At least 1/3 rd of the world's population understand the Hindi. India, Pakistan, BD, UAE, Whole Middle east, Afghanistan, Burma and upto Indonesia.

6. cultural language would be hindi... this is to eradicate regionalism, yet provide shared language.
11. external security would be provided by the sco grouping ( shanghai co-operation organization ).
13. south asia has many natural resources... those can be used for trade with other societies.

I have problems with these points.
There are problems with Hindi, not everyone understands it and somebody would say his language culture is superior.
And this external security, south Asia should have its own security.
And the split of Natural resources.

you are correct, but i present hindi as just a link language... no one will be allowed to say that hindi is superior to any other language in the world... the words of iqbal or bhagat singh or bengali intellectuals can be presented in english too... and should be.

without english and hindi, we will fall back to regionalism... and that will defeat the very purpose of the change.

or would you say we should have only english?? what is your opinion??

//edit begin

hindi should be written in roman script ( english alphabt ).

//edit end

And this external security, south Asia should have its own security.

giving south asians access to long-range rockets and artillery guns so soon is not advisable... they will soon use it against each other... :-) and no western bloc government should be allowed to interfere... hence the sco grouping.

And the split of Natural resources.

i meant external trade or exchange... and exchange ( no money involved ) is more preferable... this will be for those few things which south asia may not have... like titanium or rare earth minerals for computers...

south asia has things like gas fields, cotton farming and mineral ores... but self-sufficiency in technology is even more preferable... cannot the aerospace technicians in south asia build vtol aircraft like the below... particularly, the bottom one...

this thread has gone off-topic...

1. my proposal was to re-organize south asia into smaller self-governing regions.

2. each region would comprise a few cities each... there would be no village habitations allowed... agriculture will be done within each city ( urban farming ).

3. each region would be governed by socialism... more precisely, jamahiri socialism ( from "green book" )... very simple... each city will have "basic people's congresses" ( bpc ) for each of their localties... there will be one "municipal people's congress" ( mpc ) in a city comprising all the bpc within the city... each region will "regional people's congress" ( rpc ) comprising all the mpc within the region... there will be one "general people's congress" ( gpc ) for all the rpc within south asia...

bpc >> mpc >> rpc >> gpc.

4. the initial work towards this establishment would be done by a "revolutionary command council".

5. the above will be towards establishing a new south asian "jamahiriya"... a socialist true democracy, where the peoples will use direct-democracy to make decisions in consensus, at locality level and at south asian level... every person in this new system will participate politically... this will be the authority of the masses, within bounds of the most natural of systems... socialism...

6. the official language would be english and cultural language would be hindi... this is to eradicate regionalism, yet provide shared language.

7. each region would have people moving from other regions... this is to eradicate regionalism.

8. money system would be eradicated.

9. current national militaries would be abolished.

10. for police system, allowed would be machine guns, helicopter gunships ( kamov 52 ), armored personnel carriers ( brdm 2 ).

11. external security would be provided by the sco grouping ( shanghai co-operation organization ).

12. there will be no monopoly on technological innovations.

13. south asia has many natural resources... those can be used for trade with other societies.

14. innovations will be found in agriculture, computing, transportation, habitation, medicine, biology, fundamental physics, water purification.

---------

for forty years existed the libyan jamahiriya... a prosperous place where no person went hungry or homeless or oppressed... that can be the situation in a new south asian jamahiriya.

there is no reason for any reasonable person on this forum to have objections to the above 14 points... or to have excuses to not participate in bringing that society into existence... no sensible person will object to socialism... anyone who does objects, is not willing to stop being hateful.

i invite all pdf members to participate... be they in east, be they in west... don't be defeatist, don't be cruel... let us move towards the true communist ideal society... be mature.

salaams.
I like it.... however that only trouble would be is the west will not let that happen without their supervision, they would fear strong south Asia... some of the new self governing regions would be bought ( politicians bought) by the west... or what do you think?

people in the west fear the idea of being equal...
