Amazingly the responsible number 1 for that international isolation and current financial situation are political governments. Where watching them brought us to this disaster Defense Establishment is the 2nd responsible.
Defense Establishment of America will not let Donald Trump sell US sovereignty to anyone. This 2nd line of core defense actually protecting any country. We as a Pakistani do worries about Pakistan but this is not enough.
Thanks to those who did fight for nation to get us Jf-17 so we have something. This is business oriented world and honestly speaking we have no money to buy what we need or not able enough in diplomatic relations to get brake through easily. (Thanks to everyone responsible)
Why should Russia think about giving us SU-35, they have good relations with India and many ongoing defense projects which is worth more than the business Pakistan possibly can offer. Problem with India means many Russian defense projects can be halt.
JF-17 Block III is the only possible answer. TFX is possible but far. Getting fighter is not big deal but keeping it up it effectively in war is another. So there is no guaranty in case of war we be able to maintain the aircraft. How long we can use F-16 in case of war. everybody knows.
Desperate time needs desperate measures.
Sorry to get emotional but I feel this is truth at this point of time. Long live Pakistan.
Again IMO PAF would do well to develop JF-17 further. It makes more sense for PAF to continue it's R&D with or without Chinese participation or support, towards integration of better avionics and munitions and 'evolve' the fighter for it's specific needs.
Even if PAF is to field platforms without long range, an adequate force level will ensure the primary tasking of PAF, defence/denial of use of Pakistani airspace to intruding enemy aircraft, CAS to own troops in own airspace adequately covered by an AD screen and stand off targeting from protected airspace against massed armoured/mechanised formations ahead of DCB.
No potential war (if at all) between India and Pakistan will last beyond 72 hours before overwhelming pressure will mount to cease and return to status quo. Notwithstanding the rhetoric on either side here, that remains a hard fact.
IMO, seeing the financial state of Pakistan (and Pakistan needs funds for it's own WoT), the aforementioned thought may be best suited in near to medium term for PAF till as such time there is an upswing in economy.
Fan boys might be disappointed but if the JF-17 Block III are 80% as effective as the SU-30s & Rafael, PAF is in a very good position if you factor in all the force multipliers like AWACS & ground air Defence it has been recently investing in.
Ditto. I do not foresee any requirement of PAF to match IAF. They can, as a interim, focus on replacing all F-7s with JF-17s and developing the latter as a stop gap and in adequate numbers to be able to control their airspace and deny intruding aircraft a free run. If they can field adequate number of platforms, the number of IAF squadrons as expected over next few years will be at a level wherein JF-17 and F-16s will be able to hold till the 5th Gen comes in.
Im just wondering that whenever an air warfare scenario is discussed why is the idea of using SSW or similar operators for conducting pre emptive raids on enemy installations is never discussed.
This way we would be delivering a devastating blow to the enemy before enemy birds even take to the skies.
Because, frankly, those days of surprise air raids are long gone. And as of today, India does have significant advantages in terms of Surveillance for Aircraft detection off PAF bases.
