Priyanka Chopra heard an earful from a frustrated fan who called her a hypocrite for seemingly advocating for peace ... but clearly choosing sides in the India-Pakistan conflict.

The tense moment went down Sunday in L.A., where Priyanka was attending the Beautycon event and fielding questions from the crowd during a Q&A. A woman, who called herself Ayesha and identified as Pakistani, says it's difficult to hear her talk about humanity, when she clearly feels a certain way about recent violence in her home region.

The woman called Priyanka out for a tweet she posted in February that translated to "Long live India" -- the same day an Indian fighter jet bombed a militant training camp in Pakistan.

She went in on Priyanka, saying ... "So, it was kinda hard hearing you talk about humanity, because as your neighbor -- a Pakistani -- I know you're a bit of a hypocrite." The woman points out that Priyanka is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, and that in her eyes ... the tweet was encouraging nuclear war against Pakistan.

Security rushed over and yanked the mic away from the woman, but she continued with her thoughts ... saying she was a longtime fan of hers and her Bollywood career.

Priyanka's response has raised some eyebrows, as she asks if the woman is done venting ... and then chastised her for yelling. Before that though, Priyanka said she has many friends from Pakistan, and that war's something she's not really fond of -- but she is patriotic.

Priyanka says we all have to walk a middle ground, but then told the girl not to embarrass herself by making such a scene ... adding, "we're all here for love."

The actress caught flak initially after sending out her tweet, with some calling for her to resign from UNICEF, which many believe is supposed to be neutral in international squabbles.

Priyanka hasn't stepped down -- she's actually being awarded with a humanitarian award later this year by the org.

Guys I really understand the logic of bans but we sucked at enforcing them I am going to ruffle feathers here but needs to be blunt here,As you know I despise Bollywhorewood and its actors even the Muslim ones never like them as a kid plus I hated them I grew up in a nationalistic household despite my relatives in Pak and in the States fawning over them in the 2000s things have changed as more Turkish stuff came in but its not a representative of our culture way too Euro based for us we need to encourage content creating streaming is the future Pakistani companies need to get in that plus PEMRA and the Parliament need to pass enforce laws on I suggest 60 percent local produced content if foreign channels want to operate they must have sales offices in Pakistan I am talking networks like CNN,Cartoon Network,Nick,Disney,AXN,HBO and Discovery not just feeds with commercials inserted but local content thats what the Ganghus are doing we need to do it we are open are airwaves and sat transponders on that if not gtfo, better than half assed bans we done in 1965,90s or whatever lossen the retarded censorship laws introduced under Zia as well plus counter video piracy

The internet is a dangerous place than most of us realize. It has made many people millionaires and killed many men. It has given rise to many ideas. Its is responsible for the meteoric rise of PTI and the sickening ideology of hindutwa. I dont think pti or rss would have made it to the mainstream if it werent for the internet. Then again, pml n and ppp would never have managed to rule us for 3 decades if the internet was as good as it is today. I dont know if its a fitna or not but surly is making things happen and making them happen fast.

Firstly where is the source?
Please fulfill the minimum rule to provide a source

Secondly why is this news?

Who actually cares? I didn't even know she was goodwill ambassador let alone be given so much limelight?!

Here is the twitter account of our Ghazi sister who showed hindutva apologist a mirror.
Why put it up? So Indian can attack her with mod mentality?

They are more United then Pakistanis will be. They also have better replies ...politer and more poisonous than any galiyan Pakistani will have to offer....

I am sorry we haven't been able to shine nor overtake them in this department coz of our egos and lack of unity!

Baji, the tweet is already viral. It has 54K+ likes and over 14k retweets. There is nothing indians can do about her, you need to calm down.
