Wonderful, so these "non-delusional" Muslims in my neighborhood - not all but those in this little ghetto from where those TJ youth would sally out every Thursday evening to torture a few of the neighborhood's Muslims until some years ago, this ghetto will be definitely able to hold off in case Bajrang Dal gangs attack their houses. In truth, their self-ghettoization is a mentality, not a need for security.

While Indian Muslims have had violence done against them before 2014 we must acknowledge that especially since 2005 many Indian Muslims have made themselves unnecessarily distinct from many others whether through appearance or through creating ghettos. They have self-otherized, disconnected with the issues in the country. They think it is Islamic behavior but it is anything but. Years ago I was a teacher in a computer institute and one of my colleague's student was an Iraqi Muslim. No non-Muslim worker in the institute discriminated against him. Yes, there was talk of genociding Indian Muslims starting two million in that Dharam Sansad Hindutvadi conference late last year but should we ignore those Muslim ghettos in Bombay ( like Mumbra ) or even the little one in my neighborhood here in the Deccan ?

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan says he would like to have a televised debate with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi to resolve differences between the two neighbors.

The nuclear-powered rivals have shared antagonistic relations since gaining independence 75 years ago, fighting three wars, with ties strained recently over the northern Muslim-majority region of Kashmir, which both claim in full.

“I would love to debate with Narendra Modi on TV,” Khan told Russia Today in an interview on Tuesday, adding that it would be beneficial for the 1.7 billion people in the subcontinent if differences could be resolved through debate.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs did not immediately respond to a request for comment, the Reuters news agency said.

“India became a hostile country so trade with them became minimal,” Khan said, stressing his government’s policy was to have trade relations with all countries.

Khan’s remarks follow similar comments recently by Pakistan’s top commercial official, Razak Dawood, who, according to media, told journalists he supported trade ties with India, which would benefit both sides.

Khan said Pakistan’s regional trading options were already limited, with Iran, its southwestern neighbor, under United States sanctions and Afghanistan, to the west, involved in decades of war.

Pakistan shares strong economic ties with its northern neighbor, China, which has committed billions of dollars for infrastructure and other projects under its Belt and Road Initiative.

Khan’s interview came on the eve of a visit to Moscow, where he will meet President Vladimir Putin – the first visit by a Pakistani leader to Russia in more than 20 years.

The two-day visit for talks on economic cooperation was planned before the current crisis over Ukraine.

“This doesn’t concern us, we have a bilateral relation with Russia and we really want to strengthen it,” Khan said of the Ukraine crisis.

Some days ago I read of the Communist poet from Hyderabad, Makhdoom Mohiuddin :

Makhdoom Mohiuddin, or Abu Sayeed Mohammad Makhdoom Mohiuddin Khudri, (4 February 1908 – 25 August 1969) was an Urdu poet and Marxist political activist of India who founded the Progressive Writers Union in Hyderabad and was active with the Comrades Association and the Communist Party of India, and at the forefront of the 1946–1947 Telangana Rebellion against the Nizam of the erstwhile Hyderabad state.

Mohiuddin lectured at the City College in 1934 and taught Urdu literature. He was the founder of the Communist Party in Andhra Pradesh. Therefore, he is regarded as a Freedom Fighter of India. He also rallied against the monarchy of the Princely State of Hyderabad to merge with the newly liberated Indian Union.

He traveled to most of the European countries that existed under the umbrella of the Soviet Union and also visited Red China. While in Moscow he met Yuri Gagarin and wrote a poem on him.

That was then. Hyderabad had an intellectual culture decades ago. Now Hyderabad is known for the AIMIM whose leader in Beed town pasted banners that read "Pehle hijab, phir kitaab" despite him supposedly aligning himself with a religious community whose founder said that knowledge should be obtained even if one has to go as far as China. If the AIMIM and PFI types had been all that represented Muslims just before the Islamic Golden Age that era would never have occurred. In fact these people would have been anti-Islam during the early days of Islam.

Modi doesn't possess the capability to debate with IK, on issue of Kashmir. If he does, his fate wouldn't be different than Abhinandan.
