On 13 February 2025 Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House marking Modi's first visit during Trump's second term. The meeting took place amidst trade tensions between the two nations with Trump advocating for "reciprocal tariffs" and criticizing India's high import duties. Even these challenges both leaders expressed a commitment to strengthening the US-India partnership across various sectors. Modi publicly praised Trump and sought to improve relations with Washington.
During their discussions Trump and Modi agreed to negotiate on longstanding disparities in trade between the America and India aiming for a more level playing field. They established a framework for enhanced collaboration in areas such as space exploration global security and energy exchanges. Trump highlighted Indian agreement to purchase more United States oil and gas. Modi aligning with Trump's Make America Great Again ideology proposed a similar vision for India stating When America and India collaborate with MAGA plus MIGA it transforms into a mega partnership for prosperity.
While meeting they aimed to strengthen US-India relationship trade issues and tariffs remained a central focus. Trump imposed tariffs on other countries and threatened similar actions against India. Even these potential challenges Modi looked for to avoid theimpact of Trump's tariff policies. They also discussed immigration with Modi pointing to Indian acceptance of returned migrants from US. Ultimately meeting served as an opportunity for both leaders to reaffirm their mutual support and explore avenues for enhanced cooperation even amidst existing trade tensions.

Finally!
PM Modi is FORCED to do a press conference in the US - something he hasn’t done in India in 11 years.
THIS is why he NEVER takes press questions in India.
THIS is why his “interviews” in India are fully scripted.
He’s so ANGRY & FLUSTERED
