Premier quits after landslide KMT defeat

Are you sure what you are talking? During Chens time, Taiwan economy performance is the worst. That's why he loses the businessman support and most Taiwanese support which result in landslide victory for Ma..

Cross strait trading is inevitable. Mainland tourist has huge spending power. The close proximity also faciliate Taiwanese business investment to flourish in mainland. Finally not to mention the huge mainland market. Just China market alone is enough to make you a super billionaire. Ask Jack ma will do.

During his presidency, Taiwan's GDP/ cap had increased massively:

Japanese too don't have the r sound, arigatou = aligato isn't that so @Nihonjin1051

Actually I think they have the opposite problem.

They have a lot of "r" sounds (rolling "r" sound like Mandarin), but they don't have the "L" sound.

So when a Japanese says "liang" they often say "riang". Unless they have experience with the "L" sound from knowing another language of course.

Although I am not a big fan of Jack Ma, but he is the only non-western private businessman who can rival those Anglo tycoons.

Even though he got China's gigantic market on his back, but his idea is still brilliant, that's for sure.

He has also dwarfed any of those businessmen from HK and Taiwan.

He needs to surpass li ka shing, you think he can do it?

The personal wealth is just another matter, but his personal influence is now on the track to rival that of Bill Gates.

Since Alibaba now is going to lift thousand of small businesses and corporations, so this will become a tremendous feat in the modern history.

There is a light 'R' sound in Japanese, but there are no 'L' sound in Japanese. That's why there is the mistaken R pronunciation.

I don't know where you got your data. One of the main reason he loses support is the lack of opportunities for Taiwanese businessman investment in mainland due to his policy. Taiwan economies stagnant. And many Taiwanese fresh grad cannot find a job. It is only after Ma takes over then the cross strait improves all this.

Of cos the cross strait also brought competition to local Taiwanese which now becomes one of the irk that makes KMT loses support.

So why did you fail to stop China taking the Xisha islands back in the 1970's? :cheesy:
In 70s, We had to choose between unifying the South-Laos-Camb and protecting Paracel, and we chose the first option.

At least, Paracel r just some small & useless rocks, cant compare wt ur TW that have a very important position with China:pop:

It's interesting, because "Ramen" in Chinese is pronounced as "La mian".

Ramen - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The origin of ramen is unclear. Some sources say it is of Chinese origin. The name ramen is the Japanese pronunciation of the Chinese lamian (拉麺).[9]

So it's almost the same, but with the "r" instead of the L.

So Cantonese and Japanese have the exact opposite problem, lol. Cantonese find it hard to pronounce "r" and Japanese find it hard to pronounce "L", and often substitute them for each other.

“百年老店” KMT 快要没落了, 政治精英一代不如一代。Internal struggles inside KMT is the most problem, so they defeated again by themselves, DPP just push them down quickly.

So that's why 2016 is going to be full of excitement. :yahoo:
