BEIJING: China on Tuesday indicated that it would not invest in creating another naval base in Pakistan, perhaps jolted by the Taliban attack on Pakistan's naval base.

Chinese foreign ministry said it had not seen any proposal to build a naval base in Pakistan. The statement amounts to a rejection of Pakistani defence minister Ahmad Mukhtar's claim that his government was pushing Beijing to build a naval base near the Gwadar port.

"China and Pakistan are friendly neighbours. Regarding the specific China-Pakistan co-operative project that you raised, I have not heard of it,'' Jiang Yu , Chinese foreign ministry spokeswoman said in a news conference in Beijing. This is a rejection of Mukhtar's claim that China had agreed to Pakistan's request to take over operations of the port near Gwadar.

Jiang's statement is significant as it comes just after Pakistan PM Gilani's visit.

This could be a typical twisting of the actual news in question and may not have anything to do with the attack on PNS Mehran.
There were earlier reports that China has not received a formal proposal and even this article states that... I think the taliban threat is just a conjecture of the reporter.

What happened to pakistan-china's "All weather friendship" claims???:undecided::undecided:

This one attack made weather in pakistan so unfriendly for china that she was forced to decline to built another port in paksitan??

Pakistanis are willing to make pakistan a colony of china, this is exactly same as once claimed pakistan-america all weather friendship. Pakistan themselves want to give up their sovereignity. China will also one day milk all the strategic benefits from pakistan at a small cost and dump pakistan once pakistan fulfills its purpose(just like amerika did).

Pakistan doesn't has might to fight its own wars and it always looks for others to fight their wars. Earlier it was america, now its china.

There was not formal offer so why should wast energy even to think over it.
Don't make baseless comments.
The war which we already have stepped in if you place India then believe me you even one year can't survive.
Our relation & business with China can't match with US.
