Shah's Iran was a lovey dovey Friend of everyone in the region. He was as good an ally to Pakistan as Turkey, Despite having tensions with Saudi Arabia Relations were still good in 70s Saudi-Iran conflict was seen as it was i.e Regional Conflict instead of turning it into an ideological one and getting masses invloved, Despite being Rivalry to Iraq, Iran still managed to save Saddam by informing him about the soviet conspiracy against him and that improved the Iran-Iraq Relations.
HE had a great foreign policy, A Darling to the west and Friendly to all his neighbors always trying to defuse tensions with rivals.
Not that i dislike the current regime. Probably the only country that is seeing the American Aggression in the region eye to eye and credit goes to them for that.
But destroying their economy in the meanwhile and frictional relationship with everyone in the neighborhood is not a feat.

They are like Napoleon and Nader shah or Ibrahim pasha of Egypt the son of muhammad ali they were great military leaders but failed statesmen and politicians

And if the Islamic Republic were to fall the MEK would enter in power they are more socially conservative than even the Islamic Republic but they are Yankee puppets.

1. I don't understand how a socialist movement, which includes women among its leadership, can be socially conservative.

2. As far as I know, during the Iran-Iraq war, the MeK was supported and given refuge by Saddam's government. Again, I don't understand at what point the MeK gained support of the USA government.

Which and why? Personally, I like Iran now because Iran is self sufficient and make world class military hardware.

very simple , they are a cult , they are combination of Islamist ideology and Communism and somehow Fascism , they took something from every group and combined them together and made an ideology that allow the leadership to control every single aspect of the life of their members

To replace their loss of faith to the outsiders, members of the MKO had no option except to follow blindly their leaders.
