Shukar hai the iconic uniform is back

Black or dark blue is best for police. However what I can't undestand is what does it take for Pakistan to sort out the fine details? Look at the sargent decal, it looks shoddy. Badges and shoulder epaulets again look like fit for clown. A nice uniform instills pride and respect from the public.

its not the uniform which meters ... what meter is the person who is wearing it... our police is filled up with thugs and criminals and until these black sheep are in ... no meter what uniform they wear, public will not give them any respect

Agreed but the khaki uniform introduced by Showbaz was just lame. Police uniform should be the same across the country and this uniform is easily recognised from distance.

Mian Mansha made billions as sole provider of Police uniforms to Punjab police. The who Punjab police uniform change was for Mansha textile mills.

For whom they have changed now? will dress changing make people respect them more, or will it reset Police department and they will become better.

Great... and police uniform should be the same all over country. Damn this 18th amendment...the biggest hindrance in cohesion.

18th amendment was made because of this dead constitution. I hope this constitution is dissolved soon & a new powerful constitution is implemented in Pakistan for the sake & safety of Pakistan.

We can hear indications from the federal Govt., PA & even CJP against this dead constitution. Even the great late Gen. Hameed Gul spoke against this dead constitution.

Only recruit graduates and set up a independent police complaint commisson. Furthermore all police officers should have id numbers displayed on their persons at all times. There should also be 1/2 officers allocated per district/town, so they can liase with their communities.

3. All police officers below the rank of SP have their ID number on display on a PETI (Belt), you can ask him or her to give you his or her PETI number, their PETI number is also available on their service card. Upon asking, a constable must give you his PETI number, thana number and SHO name.
4. 1/2 officers per district? Do you know how many people are in a district? Take Karachi for example, each district of Karachi has a population of roughly 2.6 million, you think two officers can liaise with 2.6 million people?

Personally I'd have a more workman like uniform over ceremonial tunic and trousers any day, there is a reason the MET in the UK did away with the black No.2 Tunic and trousers for a more streamlined uniform.

idea of uniform is identification, PMLN made wrong decision to change the uniform of police same as Army. It actually lead to confusion. Now is better.
Corruption is there due to political culture. Ruling party always keep interior ministry close to their hearts.
Honest police man will not survive a week.
