It's a question of a lack of capcity within Indian defence shipyards right now. They are simply overloaded and packed to the rafters with orders. Steps are being taken to resolve this with massive capacity expansionary work but this takes time. India had the choice of waiting 10 years for the back up to be cleared so that work could commence on some frigates or go to Russia, get a reasonable deal, get a capable ship in reasonable time and decommission some of their ageing fleet.


I'm sure you'd agree the IN made the right call.

and lemme tell you that the Bangladesh Navy is also doing an incredible job with such a paltry amount assigned to them,i mean i was pretty impressed after watching some pics of the Bangladesh Navy SWADS.man they got some serious firepower with them
