What's new

PAT- Dr. Tahir-Ul-Qadri's Political Desk

SM Qureshi was actually encouraging their supporters to join long march. IK went on to say that supporters were already pressing the leadership to second Qadri's march.

That 'Leader' guy on pdf who is skinning Qadri with his nonstop trolling makes me wonder if he's the part the same PTI I've heard of. :D

he will be another shereen mazari :D

and yet you didnt burn that after zardari appointment

Zardari was a thief, and we all know it, I didnt vote for him then and dont support him now, I dont support the ganjas, and if IK wants to join Qadri now I wont support him either. And please stop making assumptions abt others, my diff with qadri are purely based on the fact tht that hypocrite has lied and lied abt religion and claims to be some sort of a saint, and you people blindly follow him, I am not stopping yall from doing that, but I am not going to be a part of it at all.

The 2 standing up against the thieves, would be great if both stand for elections later.

Imran Khan Vs. Qadri in elections will be what is called a democracy as we have 2 new people to choose from, not the same old thieves contesting each other and under the table have all rules and regulations set on who will get turn to be in opposition and coalition and government and how much share will be for all from the loot during the tenure.

Trying someone new is better than trying some who has already been tried and tested repeated number of times.

Frankly - Qadri have no chance to win against IK in elections. No matter how much one criticize IK but the fact is his current status is result of restless efforts he is doing since years.

Security tightened on third day of long march

Pakistani protesters rallied for a third day Wednesday in the largest political demonstration seen for years in the capital, calling on the government to quit after the Supreme Court ordered the arrest of the prime minister.

Tens of thousands of followers of Pakistani-Canadian cleric Tahirul Qadri massed near parliament house, where they were dug in for the long haul with stocks of food and bedding.

A general election is due to be held by mid-May, but Qadri wants parliament dissolved immediately and a caretaker government set up in consultation with the military and the judiciary, to implement key reforms before the polls are held.

As Qadri delivered a fiery speech to his supporters on Tuesday, berating "corrupt and incompetent" politicians for the country's woes, the Supreme Court issued an order to arrest Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and 16 others over graft allegations in power generation projects in 2010.

The court order instructed officials to arrest "without any hesitation" those accused in the case, and for the chairman and officials from the National Accountability Bureau corruption watchdog to report to the court on Thursday.

The ruling stoked an already febrile political atmosphere and while analysts said it was unlikely to force Ashraf out of office, they warned the timing would fuel rumours about a judicial-military conspiracy.

Qadri's sudden -- and apparently well-financed -- emergence as a political force is seen by critics as a ploy by elements of the establishment, particularly the armed forces, to delay the elections and sow political chaos.

Nuclear-armed Pakistan, struggling with a weak economy and bloody insurgency, has seen three military coups during its 65-year history.

Security officials estimated the size of the Islamabad crowd at between 25,000 and 50,000, which would make it the largest political protest in the capital since the government led by the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) was elected in 2008.

Qadri is to address the crowd at 1:00 pm and one of the protest organisers, Mian Mumtaz, said he was likely to elaborate on his future course of action.

His deputy Sadiq Qureshi Tuesday hailed the Supreme Court ruling -- greeted by the crowd with dancing and cheering -- as their "first victory" and pledged to stay in the capital until their demands were met.

Qadri, a frenzied orator, led his followers into the capital in the early hours of Tuesday, at the climax of a 38-hour journey from the eastern city of Lahore.

"We slept under open sky but we did not feel cold despite severe winter. We want change and when you are on a mission you forget everything," Qadri supporter Shabaan Alvi, 57, told AFP.

Police clashed briefly with stone throwers and protesters brandishing sticks on Tuesday, shooting into the air and firing tear gas. Eight officers were injured. Organisers of the rally accused police of opening fire and of attempting to arrest Qadri.

Crooks wont be allowed to rule: Qadri

ISLAMABAD: Tehreek-e-Minhaj ul Quran leader Dr Tahirul Qadri said that the current rulers of Pakistan are corrupt and the country cannot move towards betterment until they step down, Geo News reported on Wednesday.

While addressing the participants of long march at D-Chowk and Jinnah Avenue on the third day of sit-in, Qadri said that the long march will bring revolution and corrupt politicians will no longer be allowed to run the country affairs.

He dismissed the claims of politicians that the democratic system was not allowed to flourish and hailed army for not meddling with the system in the last five years.

He denied that his demands are increasing with the long march and said that there are three basic demands and the fourth demand is the implementation mechanism for the three demands. He stated that he will not step back until his demands are met.

Dr Qadri said that the other points in the seven-point charter of demands are just the extension and explanation of the four main demands that he will explain later in his speech.

Referring to the reaction over the Supreme Court’s order in the rental power case, he said that it is very unfortunate that the current leadership is corrupt in all means and does not take anything in true letter and spirit.

He expressed his sorrow and said that the SC has ordered to arrest the 16 accused in RPP case including the prime minister and to include their names in the exit control list (ECL). Now it is the PM’s responsibility to implement the SC order but on the contrary, Law Minister Faroooq Naik and Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira said that the SC did not order to arrest the prime minister.

He questioned that how the country can run in such situation when such responsible personalities are giving such statements. Is it democracy and constitutionalism? The deadline to arrest the accused is ending tonight.

He said that the responsible persons should not behave like that and termed it as a shameful act by the government .He said that that is why they are marching to achieve democracy and supremacy of judiciary.

Dr Qadri further referred to various statements of leaders who see links btw his long march and SC order. He said that it a sheer bad luck and remorseful to see such feedback. He referred to the information minister’s statement who said that Qadri knew about the SC judgment in prior.

Dr Tahirul Qadri swore upon God that he did not even know about the hearing of the case. ‘Do you call this democracy?’ he questioned the crowd.

He said that such people are corrupt who suspect SC’s honesty and condemned this act.

He further said that the assemblies are passing resolution which is another disgraceful act by the corrupt leaders who see conspiracy in the SC order and his act.

He referred to political leadership as ‘political plunderers’.

Qadri denounces conspiracy allegations against SC verdict

ISLAMABAD: Minhajul Quran International (MQI) leader Tahirul Qadri, in his early morning address on Wednesday, denounced all allegations of a conspiracy in yesterday’s unexpected turn of events and criticised those who were suspecting the Supreme Court’s intentions.

He was referring to allegations that propped up after the Supreme Court ordered Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf’s arrest moments after Qadri’s address.

In contrast to yesterday’s fiery address, the leader was much calmer today.

With reference to the incident, Qadri said: “They say I knew [about the SC’s decision]. Honestly, I did not even know that the [rental power plants case] hearing was taking place.”

He criticised all those who were saying the incident was too much of a coincidence and was actually a well-planned conspiracy and told them to have shame before suspecting the judiciary’s intent.
