Thanks for the info.
So when did these rifles started to appear among Hamas and PIJ? Last year? It seems the effectiveness of the rifle is quite decent, right? They seem to appreciate the rifle.
But I'll guess the last confrontation between Hamas and Israel already showed the unwillingness of Israel to start a ground offensive in Gaza again. I'll guess this has something to do with greater preparation from Hamas and PIJ for a possible conflict? They seem to have adapted.
In the past two years they have got most of them. Yes, it is effective in the sense it serves their purpose.
During the 2006 Lebanon war they learned to wear plenty of armor in the 2009 ground invasion. You can see hundreds were wounded but few were killed.
So they needed higher caliber rifles.
They did prepare a lot more this time and were able to protect what they needed as they had them in hidden storages many underground.
Their forces preparing for the ground invasion were also protected well and Hamas and PIJ did a greater job in acquiring ammunition in greater numbers not only for rifles but for anti tank weapons as well and they had many quantities for different better rpg warheads.
Also they have burrows that are tunnel like to place IED's underground in sensitive areas where IDF ground forces enter Gaza from they have gotten them under streets in secret places as well.
Now they can travel underground and have basic needs available there only a few times they may have to get above ground to move from certain buildings to others.
That being said, Israel's intelligence is still a factor here because if they acquire maps or information on vital areas they can launch strikes before hand but they don't have all this information.
Hamas also now monitors Israeli forces and spies on Israeli military installations, just today Israel blow up a Hamas device they found near the border.
So they have adapted and still are adapting to new changes.
But, the best improvement is that they can protect necessary weapons in secret caches much more than they were able to and this means as the ground invasion moves in they didn't lose key weapons.
