We get our strike fighter F-16 from USA, we get billions of dollars in aid from USA, lot of our military hardware is from USA, that would include things like Cobra Helicopters, PC-1 Orion aircraft etc. In addition most of our elite send their children to US for higher education. Also 100,000 of Pakistan have made USA their home and millions more would love to migrate if they could find a boat that they could hide in to take them to USA.
So, all in all I suspect our hypocracy index would not be elevated to any significant degree we were also to say to Uncle Sam "can we pretty please have the horizontal drilling trchnology"?
If they refused we could always burn a few more US flags !!!
Something I've been preaching ALL along. If you look at Pakistan's history....the US has ALWAYS stood by it. May be not to the expectations that the Pakistanis had. But it's been there. From Jets to Education to Roads to Healthcare to Government's salaries...the US has been provided for whatever was asked !!!! Sad part is...Pakistani leadership never let the flow of money and the idea of a better life down to its people. At the end, the same politicians rule Pakistan at the cost of bitchin* about the US. That's sad.
If you take a look around, over six decades.....how many 'arab brothers' or 'afghani or irani brothers' have stood by Pakistan? On and OFF (KSA) may be but NO ONE offered continuous support as the US did.
I think people on this forum (who agree with me and the post above mine) need to tell their friends, families, etc and make sense out of it. TRUST ME, a MODERATE Pakistan is in US's BEST interests. A failing and ailing Pakistan, plagues by Talibo-sclerosis (as I call it), will raise eye brows across the globe.
Pakistani population, like the Indian population (same genetics) is VERY smart. I think the smartness needs to realize their national interests. The US DOES enjoy VERY good relations with Turkey, Indonesia, UAE and Malaysia....all of these are Muslim countries. So the US doesn't have a 'problem' with muslim countries. Pakistan needs to understand that friends CAN HAVE different national security focuses. And they may not see eye to eye on everything. BUT they remain FRIENDS and keep working together. I think moderation, tolerance and advancement needs to be talked about in the streets of Pakistan so that the American sentiment can reduce in nature and a more productive relationship can be established. If you keep burning the American flag on tv and the Americans are seeing it....not sure how you score positive points. There is a non-emotional, democratic way to show your disagreements
