Pakistan's missed opportunity

America would do everything they could to stop that from happening.

And America has enormous amounts of influence amongst many politicians in the Pakistani government. They could just do another Raymond Davis and shut it down, using the corrupt politicians under their control.

The ideal solution of course is to purge all traitors from the Pakistani government.

Simple rule, the interests of your country should be above ALL else in the realm of politics. Anyone who puts the interests of America or India above the interests of Pakistan should be sent to a firing squad.
You are right there mate, and I too wish that national interests should be above all others but sadly very few people of influence share this sentiment

Back Then Pakistan was Hired Gun of Amreeka , so no missed Opportunities . Only in recent years it is jumping in lap of China .

Sources? If you don't even know that Indian army in 65 had 700,000 troops to Pakistan's 260,000 there isn't any more point in talking!

100,000 soldiers surrendered did they? There was only 45,000 Pakistani troops in Bangladesh.....The rest were civilians and families of the troops. And you were talking to me about being fed "fairy tales".

I talked about the idiocy of these two previously. You might want to read about Yahya's incompetence in the 65 war.

Like I said before, dozens of threads on this. Stop derailing this one.

700,000 werent meant for Pak, half were at China borders. There goes you claim in the trash.

Anyways, we should stop derailing until yoiu can get some proof for your claims, till then I am gonna believe Bhutto and Yahyas assesment of West Pakistan in danger of falling to India as documented by the state cables.

Obviously, their opinion carries far more weight than yours or the threads on this forum.

Ciao.

You think the 260,000 were entirely meant for India then? We had troubles with Afghanistan as well during that time and thousands were stationed in the Western sector. I'm pretty sure you did not have "half" of your troops on the Chinese border, as the Soviets had clearly warned the Chinese not to get involved. You were at full strength and heavily outnumbered us.

Again there are plenty of threads on this.

No, though I do personally consider Developereo to be a "modern day" Ayub Khan.

With his ridiculous assertion that "China will ditch Pakistan and choose India instead", in a thread that he started.

I am unsure of his reasons, but I guess it must be some sort of cultural affinity with his homeland.

It's a possibility that one cannot rule out.

But won't happen for as long as the Communist Party is in power.

India joining the US camp is no issue at all.

What did the USA do when Russia invaded their ally Georgia? They said some friendly things to Georgia, then didn't do anything.

What about South Korea, arguably America's closest ally in the region? They were bombed to Hell by North Korea, who even sunk a South Korean battleship, killing hundreds of South Korean military personnel. As well as killing South Korean civilians with artillery bombardment.

America is the expert at this game. They said some friendly words to South Korea, but didn't help them against multiple fatal attacks from North Korea.

You think America could not militarily punish North Korea? They could obviously do it, but they choose not to, every time. They are clever, they let others fight it out, while they grow stronger on the sidelines.

Well, the US did try to intervene during the 71' war with its carrier group. That was until the Soviets showed up. If things progressed, it would have been a MAD situation. No one on either side wanted that.

Interesting thread nonetheless. I didn't even know that China offered Pakistan such a proposition in the past.

Ayub Khan was smarter than Nehru in predicting the Chinese Threat and overseeing the delusion smoke of an anti-colonial Asian block.

However the repeated historical event of China abandoning Pakistan is due to Chinese security concerns / interests being primarily in East-Asia

EVERY single government in the world may tell their people one thing about America, but seek good relations with it- the reason is, America has the largest economy, it has the best technology (both military and civilian), and is the most powerful country militarily and politically and leads the world in science etc.

China now is not the same as the 1960s. There is no desire to spread Communism to America and try to attack the American nation.

Name me one time since the end of the Cold War, when the governments and heads of states of Russia, Pakistan, China, India, or any major country said that they intend to challenge America and take it down? On the contrary, every single one of these governments, including Iran (which tells its people to curse America in public) seek better relations with America, increased economic and military ties. The alleged "anti-American" Putin has said so in public, that he seeks better relations with America. )In fact his real aim is to make himself and his cronies rich like any other politician, he has no intention of fixing Russia's corruption and cleaning out the mafia like most other politicians). The governments of China, Pakistan, and India all say they seek better relations with America and try at every corner to increase economic ties, investment, technological cooperations. Whatever BS they feed to the public is irrelevant. Same with Iran, which in reality ALWAYS wanted the sanctions lifted and to normalize relations with America.

If you are criticizing another country for being "Pro-America" your country is likely doing do the same and being "pro America".

If you are competing with another second country for ties and investment in a third country, the best thing to do is to off them the equivalent, or even more than what the second country offered to the third, with no strings attached. IF the second country tries to attach strings to THEIR offer and alliance, the third country will obviously become suspicious and reject it.

China, hip-hop and the new Sudan - CNN.com

"The Chinese don't influence our politics," says Jal. "They don't comment on it, and what they want, they pay for -- sometimes double the amount. This tends to make all Africans happy -- from the dictators to the democrats," he adds wryly.

"There isn't a party in Africa that doesn't like them. Even if you're a rebel movement and you say to them you can secure gold, the Chinese will simply say they want to buy it.

"The only foreign policy advice I heard from China was when they said to Sudan, 'Don't go back to war.' That's all they said. They didn't push anything else."

The reason why many countries have ties to America, is because they have things nobody else has, they have the most advanced military technology, the biggest political and military reach in the world, the most influence, a high standard of living, the biggest economy which every other major economy in the world is tied to.

America does "Raymond Davis" incidents everywhere because it can. When that American probe crashed into the Chinese jet, and that American crew was detained by China, eventually the crew got released back to America. If this happened in another country, Chinese-Dragon would have said that they should have slaughtered the entire crew and gave the middle finger to America.

And even major powers like Russia have been screwed by third world countries in these kinds of incidents. South Sudan shot down a Russian helicopter and killed its Russian crew, and Russia didn't do anything against South Sudan- a third world nation.

It is getting security on the cheap on the Western flank.

In this case " If wishes were horses, then the whole of china would eat".

We have quite a negative view of them:

1)They're eyes are too small, we think they ate something bitter or smoked too much bhang. (Why do they have such small eyes? It's strange and unnatural to us, even scary.)
2)They are yellow in colour, we think they have liver issues
3)We think they eat the most disgusting of things like cockroaches and baby foetuses
4)We think they all look the same
5)They lack culture and seem to steal it from everyone else; 1st they stole our Buddhism, now the they are taking American culture
6) We think their society lacks the concept of Ahimsa, they are an inherently violent people
7)We think their language sounds like someone choking on their tongue

This is just how we view you.

LOL. Chinese people do not like indians for the most part. You people come to our school because your schools suck. Here's what Chinese people know of Indians:
1. They eat curry
2. their rivers have floating shit
3. They defacate openly
4. They eat without utensils
5. They smell
6. They do not use toilet paper

Sorry but that's the truth.
And Indians think and know Chinese people as:
1. Tiny
2.Weak
3.Hairless
4.Feminine
5.Living under constant fear of government
6.Slit eyes
7.Nerdy
8.Awkward with women
9.Promiscuous women(whores)
10.Unbelievable amounts of Smog

@Chinese-Dragon great nodes you started...there are many dots here to connect to form a final picture.

In 1962 China woke up to the dark reality.

Premier Zhou Enlai tried hard to forge friendship and brotherhood with india in hope of creating an anti colonial block in Asia.

Vietnam and SE asia was a launching pad of colonial assualt on China.

China was attacked at the behest of the colonisal masters by indians in 62.

This was to profit from the internal weakness of that time. But China was alive to this betrayal.

In 1950-60s the trouble makers were being helped by our southern neighbour to cause problems for China in our Tibet.

I am sure you know the details. This goes on till today.

What Pakistan or its leadership did or did not do...has impact on their state till today. We must respect their choices.

The era of imperial powers leaving Asia has not been over yet.

SE and NE Asia is still a nest of trouble makers.

In the SA till today trouble makers are facilitated by our good neighbour.

The imperial strategy that was doing its Great Game created artifical super state the size of China in hope of creating a balance of power.

This was done by both superpowers of the day.

And it is still on going till today. Propping up and arming a challenger to contain China on orders from outside.

Results and events speak for themselves.

The most relevant question is: Where we stand today and what to do going forward?

In every state there are collaborators with assets in the foreign countries. Hence there is no shortage of traitors.

Does not China have it share?

OBOR is the key to create peace and development.

CPEC is one vital element of it.

And we see Pak friends fully supporting the path to peace and development.

When Pak-China economies are integerated...a prosperous and independt Pak emerges. Which is in the strategic interests of China.

There is a long way to go until there be Hamony under the Heaven.

Patience is the Virtue here.
