There is few Pakistani girls who compete but beauty pageants it's not very big thing but it's gotten more well known since more pakistani girls have started taking part in international pageants and there is also Miss Veet competition in Pakistan. These things are nothing new so it's not a surprise they have been happening openly in Pakistan for years anyway its just now becoming more visible due to growth of pakistani film/tv/music industry and impact of social media .

That's good. Progress is what we need. I'm also glad that there is growing cooperation between Indian and Pakistani media industry. Pakistani actors and singers are very talented and the actresses are stunningly beautiful. It's good to see their roles in Bollywood films.

Now that's what I call thicc!

With all due respect I appreciate the peaceful sentiment and I don't mind cooperation if it's a joint Indo-pak production but i am against them going to Bollywood since pakistani content is banned in India also Indian actresses don't visit Pak or appear much in pakistani movies or shows so I don't see why it should be on way thing . Besides it's better they work on pakistani content and focus on developing their own industry- Indian film industry is already very big it does not need pakistani actresses.

Yeah I understand. But there is hope that with time this will change with the younger generations being more Liberal and Progressive in both countries.

8 velvet style looks your wardrobe needs right now

The trend you were in love with last season (and every winter, really) is officially making its grand return

The trend you were in love with last season (and every winter, really) is officially making its grand return—velvet.

At some point in recent years, the luxe fabric went from being your grandma's favourite to permeating the wardrobes of style icons. This season, we're expecting to see the velvet trend take on a slightly new persona, one that's a little less OTT than seasons past.

Ready to see the winter trend in action...again? Here are some of our favourite pieces for the upcoming cold weather:

1) Velvet shoes
What feels freshest about velvet this time around is the idea of wearing it well before the holiday party circuit gets going — and doing it in the day time too. And what better way to do it than with just a hint of velvet?

Get these funky floral mules from Chapter 13's new velvet collection!

Pair 'em with silk pieces or distressed denim and look instantly high fashion. Plus it's perfect for the weather right now when it's not too hot or not too cold; this way, you can rock a little bit of velvet without breaking a sweat.

2) A wrap kameez
Comfortable like a robe yet stylish enough to be worn out of the house, we love this piece by Ayesha Somaya in particular.

Finally, some new silhouettes are coming into play this season

3) A velvet kaftan
Since Misha Lakhani made one a must have a couple of years ago, many designers have experimented with the slinky silhouette.

Who said fashion and comfort don't go hand in hand?

This sultry black Zainab Salman number hit all the right notes in our books!

4) A laser cut velvet kurta
Maheen Ghani Taseer always has her finger on the pulse of what's hot and she's taken this trend to a whole other level by incorporating laser cut details.

Black or maroon?

Oooh we're really digging those sleeves!

5) A velvet blazer
Ever wanted to suit up at a wedding? Now's your chance.

A modern twist on the traditional bride

Switch up the regular lehenga choli combo with a velvet blazer!

6) A velvet coat
All hail to the season's answer to texture.

A little embroidery never hurt nobody

This sleeveless teal long piece by Samah and Hamayal caught our eye, not to mention that mixing the fabric with timeless black or navy is a foolproof option.

7) A velvet crop top
Rule # 1 when it comes to rocking velvet: less is more.

5a213ddb59944.jpg

Keep it simple when it comes to velvet

Don't drown yourself in it. Instead pair a crop top with palazzos or black pants for a simple but on-trend look.

8) A shawl
Instantly jazz up any outfit this wedding season with a velvet shawl or dupatta; keep the colours rich and deep and pair with gold accents for maximum impact.

velvet + embellishments = arm workout

Pssst be sure to get a workout in beforehand - these babies ain't light!
