Deepak Perwani

Deepak Perwani brought out his line of cotton kurtas for men and the bejeweled digital prints and embroideries for women that are regulars at his store during the summer. Very retail-specific, it was right up Daraz’s alley.

These tulip shalwars should fly off the, um, website

What we really loved, though, was the designer’s innovation with white cotton lowers. The tulip shalwars, cigarette pants, culottes and palazzos are all up on the Daraz website, priced at an affordable Rs 1800. Absolute summer staples, we’re definitely buying!

Tena Durrani

Tena Durrani’s finale was spot-on, happily waltzing the balancing act between wearable day-wear and evening glam. On a bright, young palette, the designer paired short silk shirts with harem pants, fashioned shrugs and capes with breezy crepes and brought out some very vivacious palazzos.

Tena managed to remain wearable yet trend-led

Zara Shahjahan

This was chic day-wear in a summer palette of blue, green and white, playing with variations of the shalwar kameez.

This collection was very retail friendly

The ‘it’ tulip shalwar made an appearance; so did capris, cigarette pants, light summer wraps and flirty hemlines. Zara’s DFW line was a diversion from the quirky ethos of her high-street label Coco, placing greater focus on cool floral patterns.

Feeha Jamshed

‘Feejay’, following in the footsteps of her father ‘Teejay’, has always had a penchant for affordable mass-friendly fashion. This consideration has dominated her fashion week collections thus far and, to some extent, prevails at her flagship store in Karachi. For DFW, Feeha had to merely dive into her archives and tweak some of the designs to make them more economical.

Feeha was fashion-forward

Amir Adnan

The traditional kurta is Amir Adnan’s forte and he played it up very well with impeccable finishing and minor detailings like embroidery, patch-work and pleats. Also on the catwalk were light cotton shirts and rolled up chinos – very summery.

The scarf was unnecessary

What didn’t make sense was some of the styling, with models wearing scarves that reminded one of winter. With temperatures soaring high, it’s no wonder that just the apparel is up for retail on the Daraz website. The scarves were apparently just confused attempts at accessorizing.

Jeem by Hamza Bokhari

Hamza Bokhari’s line-up of evening-wear for DFW starts at prices of Rs 4500. This factor will probably draw in online sales. Over-designing, though, was the collection’s downfall.

Jeem aimed for drapey luxe.

Organza, net and the much-hackneyed pearl-on-pastels look was worked out on flowing ‘goddess’ dresses, capes and tunics. Hamza understands garment structure quite well. Had he toned down the embellishments, the collection could have been deemed fashion-forward rather than a faux pas.

yes.

tejaswi ( the other actress ) is good too.

but your "though no looker is better looking" is incorrect. :agree:

i will post a few vids of both of them being themselves off-screen... will post this in the 'international models and actresses' thread.
plz do that.kudos

these are very hot summers in the subcontinent and the scarf indeed looks out of place.

though i must say that a scarf was my daily accessory in the winter ( not so cold ) during my year at a media company... a simple ensemble of trousers, untucked full-sleeves shirt and the scarf arranged so that both its falls appearing one above the other... looked quite stylish and got me quite a few views, from female and male. :D

ankita does have something about her, a raw sensuality.

Though I suspect the male views were most unwelcome lol

Winget is a fit bird, no question about it.

yeah, she is striking.

and she has a roundabout connection with helly.

her most famous serial, saraswatichandra, had the actor varun kapoor playing her brother-in-law... now in helly's serial, swaragini, varun plays helly's husband.

:enjoy:

Former hockey player takes up modeling in Russia
Former Pakistan hockey player Imran Ali Warsi, the blue-eyed boy of Olympian Islahuddin Siddiqui who was once dubbed as a replacement for penalty-corner specialist Sohail Abbas, is in Russia giving modeling a shot.

On Thursday, Warsi — who moved to Russia after representing Pakistan in Olympics 2008 — posted on Facebook a link showcasing his stint as a model in a music video for a Russian song, asking his followers for feedback.

The music video is not Warsi’s first attempt at a career in entertainment industry. A look at his Facebook and Twitter posts reveal that the Olympian has also featured as a model in fashion photo shoots and advertisements for different sporting brands.

During his stint at the World Series Hockey for Chennai Cheetahs in its inaugural edition in season 2011-12, Warsi was awarded the Golden Stick for top-scoring with 19 goals.

Warsi, known for power and accuracy in his strike, is hailed as one of the biggest stars in Russia’s fast-rising hockey league.

According to figures available with The News on Sunday, Warsi represented Pakistan at the senior level in the Indian Series (2004); Champions Trophy (India, 2005); Hamburg Masters Tournament (Germany, 2005); Rabo Bank Tournament (Holland, 2005); Azlan Shah Cup (2005); PHL Hockey League, India (2005), Indian Series (2006), Commonwealth Games, Australia (2006), World Cup Qualifiers (China, 2006), Azlan Shah Cup (2006), South Asian Games (2006) and Asian Games (2006).

well, theek hai, it does flatter one's ego, to be honest.

you know, i am no salman or hrithik or fawad but thrice i have been photographed by ladies and once almost ( by some japanese or chinese or korean tourists ), and once by a chap as i was descending a escalator in a shopping mall - i was wearing a black silk-wool scarf as a cravat, with a dark green shiny and textured shirt and off-white ( cream ) trousers... and once about the same dress, there was a group of ladies coming towards me and as i passed by them one of them said loudly "model".

and one of the female photographers did that in the lounge of a multiplex during the interval ( or maybe before the film began )... the striking thing is she was with a male companion and we all were sitting on either sides of the seating, i eating two chicken samosas... the lady was young ( 20-24 ) and looked fetching in a sari and i was struck with how boldly she asked ( within my hearing range ) her companion what i was wearing ( a blue/light-blue patterned scarf as cravat ) and then proceeded to stare at me and held my gaze and then photographed me in a part-hidden/part-open manner.

sometimes i love myself. :D

Thank you for informing me about this amazing fact, gosh I am speechless and in complete awe:disagree:

you are welcome.

glad you accepted my information so humbly. :D
